I'm sad to announce that Benny Parson's passed away today. I've always enjoyed listening and watching him announce races on TV. He will be missed by all fans of the sport of Nascar as a champion and an all around great guy.

Yeah, when they said he had lung cancer I knew it was just a short time before he would pass away. I had 3 uncles all die of lung cancer, and all of them were dead within 6 months of being diagnosed.

It wasn't the Cancer that killed him ultimately. It was the side effects of the Cancer treatment. RIP Bennie. He sounded pretty healthy during the last race I heard him broadcast.

I'm going to miss him...he was one of a kind.
