Hey i am very sorry for even thinking about this thread but i want to know why you chose turbo or supercharger... both have very big pros vs cons.. and im sure u all rembember that part in u life when u werent sure which one was best for u and i almost ready to flip a coin so and advice or insight would be greatly appreciated

There is. You can search it with google but I don't remember the command line, off the top of my head.

Have you searched the tech section? I know that we've had some pretty long discussions about this in there as well.

Turbo. Both have drawbacks but i vote turbo because i believe it's a more efficient power adder because it runs off of the engine's waste, not the engine crank which is parasitic like a supercharger is.

I had a turbo h/c/i and sold it. I now have a 408w and will never look back. No I didn't get to finish the turbo car but the money vs speed just wasnt worth it. I am looking to run low 10's high 9's all motor with the 408 and low 9's with some giggle gas....NOTHING that turbo could have done with that puny ass stock block. If you have the money to spend then by all means go turbo, but if you're like me and dont wanna put 15k into your mustang and only run 10's then dont. BTW because I sold my turbo setup I now have a 408w and an 01 Suzuki RM250 from the money. Goes to show how much I had in it.....

May i turn your attention to this thread http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=686679

I can assure you, this car doesn't have 2k into the engine and it's running 10s and will be deep into the 9s this summer. It's all about where and how wise you spend the money.

I am well familiar with that car from turbomustangs.com and I can assure you he will not be deep into the 9's with 1. a stock block and 2. that mpt70. I can also bet he has more than 2k into that car. Suspension. drivetrain, ect... It takes more than hp to run fast times and quite frankly turbo cars in my eyes are dyno queens. I've been around the turbomustang seen quite some time now and all I ever see is 600rwhp cars running low 10's. Thats junk if you ask me. Sure the fun factor is cool, blowing your tires off at 60mph is always cool but when the true test comes into play and a car 2secs slower beats you it makes you wonder. There are TONS of reasons why I sold the turbo setup and it's just way too much to get into, not worth my time to be honest. To each his own but what I do know is I'll be there with the ALL MOTORED car to run any turbo/blower car, any time, anyday....

you say both have there possitives and negatives.....whats a neg of a tubro besides the cost?? i have never heard of anything negative besides how much guys had to spend on buying them...i have heard people compain about sc taking power to make power

Whats a negative... well for starters what if you blew a head gasket? Do you know how long that will take to change? First take into the account of removing the turbo kit THEN you get to tackle the heads ect itself. Ever changed a spark plug in a turbo car? FUN!!
Heres a quote from a thread I made a while ago on *******.com about turboes.

"a friend of mine made just a touch over 600 rwhp on a stock block 306 scat crank stock rods je pistons turbo car...ran 9.90 @ 139 in a 3470 pld lx hatch with the c4 and 10.3x@136 with the tremec....has been together for 4 years with numerous amounts of passes..my car that is now a stroker nitrous car(will be when done) was a stock block stock bottem end with trw pistons arp studs etc..i never ran it on a sticky tire but on a shake down pass stock boost pulling a tremendous amoutn of timing 5 speed i ran 132 on a rainy day street tires if i wouldve ran that car when i did the c4 and got the tune and boost up look out 142-143 easy....very fast cars...with that being said..to me it isnt as streetable as everyone told me...weight -acess to other parts- heat forget about the heat..i betcha i had 150-200 bucks wasted in stuff trying to wrap everything up and out of the way...very finicky to the weather...for me the power and speed wasnt worth it.when i can do it the same or better and keep it much eaiser...anytime you need to do somthing usually dicates a few hours of tearing turbo stuff off before you can get to it...just me i had some real life expierence and thought id share it...i prefer fast n/a cars and when needed i have up to a 350 shot on reserve..i actually switched from efi to carb also thats a whole other story and i love the switch so far....this time around i tried to make it easier on myself. forgot to add...i also hardly enjoyed it ..i was too worried everytime i nailed it that the block was gonna crack...i had a buddy who broke 2 blocks within 2-3 months of the motors being built 347 nos car..turbo seemed to be more suttle at the initial hit..im seeing more and more all motor 347 stock block cars run in the 10's most i seen are stick cars with 4.30-4.56 gears i know thats my next build for the other car simple 347 with the right parts and a stick..."

thank you guys

My biggest problem was that not matter what i was going to kit route. And trying to decide between a pony down kit or procharger or novi was difficult.. i completely understand that a diy kit will be cheaper and most likely make more power but i dont have the time or skills to complete it. More info will be greatly appreciated

LOL, well dude timeslips tell the truth so when you post me a vid of yourself running in the 9s on your all motor setup i'll see it your way :)

Oh, and his motor is 80% Explorer as well....the engine that the video was made on threw a couple rods and he literally bought another block and just swapped it in. Also nobody said only 2k into the whole car, i said under the hood/into the engine.

They ponydown.net kit is good, not as good as B&G or Hellion, but it doesn't have everything you need to run, if I'm not mistaken. You'd still need an FMU or injectors, which most supercharger kits come with. The ProCharger kits also has a fuel pump, if I'm not mistaken.

When she gets ready I will be more than happy to do so. If you dont think an all motor 408 can run 9's you have much, much more research to do. I can dig up the video of the 9sec ALL MOTORED 306 if you want??

turbo all the way its free power, not the most reliable if pushing lots of boost, but lots more power than a blower could make pushing the same psi, plan it out right, get a good turbo kit, keep the boost safe in the 6-8 psi range, for daily consistensy, and have it tuned right!! and it will be lots of fun for a long time. My svo I ran 17-18 deg of timing with 25psi all day long, for 6 months, with a slightly warped head!!!! before it went south and all that went wrong was the head it lifted, and blew it out, thats it.
