So here's the rumors of the first numbers from the Trick Flow Intake...

Why would you have to redo your IC to TB piping? The Trick Flow supposedly uses the same TB location as the stock plenum/intake combo. Go with the HPS intake, but I would think that this intake has a higher potential for gains on a FI car than the HPS. Just my .02. I understand wanting to reuse your plenum if its already been ported though.

There was a dyno graph floating around here somewhere. It produced pretty decent #s unported....and since the bottom is removable, it should be easy to port.
Summitt is showing that the trick flows bottom is not removable....so would be hard to port any of it.

And maybe the location of teh TB on the TF is stock...although it looks angled slightly. I thought it was different, but looks pretty close.

Also, Texashotrods is selling the hardballer for $695 right now....summitt wants $795 for the TF. Dont get me wrong...I LOVE trickflow products...I have their plenum and I love it, but I dont think there is much difference between the 2 intakes in terms of power....and since the HPS intake lets me reuse everything and is $100 cheaper for now, thats what I would go with.

NOTE: NO im not even remotely planning on buying either of these....or any other for that matter...anytime soon. Car should make all the power I want easily for now :nice: .

^True...like they did with some of the 99 cobra intakes.

Its funny, in you link TF shows it as a 3 piece design....I can see the upper plenum is removable, so the bottom must be removable to make it a 3 piece design  . But we shall see I guess. They seem to have done a great job making it though.

Well, I may be up for being one the guinea pigs on a typical bolt-on car. If I get it, I will test the car with only the intake swapped. I'll leave the stock TB and everything to see what the intake does by itself. I'm still up in the air about it, but every day I get closer to deciding to bite the bullet and buy it when it comes out so I can post some results (good or bad!) for others. I'll be able to pick it up late next month if its out so we'll see. :nice:

Same here, on order thru Summit, should ship at the end of the month. We'll see what the dyno says..

OV10stang, sounds like a plan. You may be the first if yours is already on order. I'll have to wait till my second paycheck in April before I can order it but I'll probably get it late April. At least that way we can have two cars with mild bolt ons test the intake and see what it does. If the rumored numbers are true (except for the weird TQ/HP issue at 4000rpm), then it should do better on a car with some exhaust work done to it (or at least I hope). Keep me posted when you get it if you can. :nice:

Right now I have a complete exh, and a 75mm TB, baseline hp is 251. I'm not expecting 20 hp....but another .1 or .2 at the track would keep me in the 12's....
I've got a 10psi Procharger kit sitting in a box too, so we'll see if that will bolt up without any trouble. If it works, I'll post the numbers, and hope I make it thru the season on the stock block, going to get a "safe" tune;)

F taht when is the 4v version coming out lol...I'd probably buy one if I still had my GT. Have to find somebody to buy my CNL elbow first though. It's about time the 2v'ers get some love.

Yeah....they are playing the game with us. Though, last week I called Trick Flow and talked to the tech line. They had said they were still shooting for very late March or the beginning two weeks of April so the dates would still be close. This was when Summit had the date as 3/16 or so. Let the waiting game begin! :notnice: I'm just hoping it comes out no later than May.
