Remember my little brothers GTi?

That'll work real well if a cop saw his plate during the chase....

License plate or not if they can't prove him behind the wheel then they can't get him on that either. There was a book a friend of mine had, it was written by a california state trooper on how to beat a speeding tickets. And he said that if you are going fast enough and are clocked get as far as you can then pull over throw the keys on the top or hood of the car and just stand outside the car and say it wasn't you driving.

Try it. ;)

wow. thats ridiculous.

no **** i dont drive yet...but thats the last thing anyone should try...no paint in risking the life of others and yours along with your car...to me id rather have my car in one piece and not kill anyone.....and take the fine...then to risk running and taking the risk of killing someone along with my self....

thats what i would have done as well, Ive ran from the cops twice, once i was in my honda, I was going 95mph on an open highway cop spotted me and started slowing down, right them I punched it and took off found a side street, and parked for a while until dark. The second time I was in the 86gt and was driving by the dump, racing an ls1 my friends dad callls and says get to the house now!! so we went there and saw about 3 cops go flying by the house and just wave at em LOL. we all know its wrong but if you get a hair up your ass sometimes it works, most of the time it dosent. I would tell him to testify that he wasnt in the car during the chase, I mean hell they have nothing!! and then it could be dropped right there, although he has signed he was in the wrong, he could claim that he was too scared to do otherwise that the cops told him to do as well, I mean after that home slice aint gonna speed at least for a couple days LOL

I sure hope after all this he does learn from it. It might sound mean but having to sell the car and pay the fines and such is what happens when you do these things. By the sounds of all the people here running from the law, you NEED to be caught to learn, seems like a lot of you guys have done this more than once... Im glad I just pull over, the one time I was caught speeding!

Hell no I wouldn't. If I had a brother that did what you're brother did, he would need to sit in jail like a grown up and take his punishment like a man. And you guys wonder why kids are pussies these days.

Your supposed to be there to help your brother out just like Id hope for him to help me out in a simliar situation, Im his brother not his parent. He knows what he did was wrong, his car is up for sale and hes not going to be driving for a long time. The laywer wants 5,000$, $2,500 of it by wednesday and my parents are not helping him out. I dont think thats very easy on him at 17 yrs old.

Reporting the car stolen may have worked. This would also cause a lot of problems such as where the car was when it was stolen, and with your huge elaborate story your going to have to come up with, your bound to slip. Like said before its easier to take your ticket and go. Thats what I do. In the situation I was in when I ran from the cops, had I just pulled over I was going to jail for MULTIPLE charges, so I took off, and If I could go back and change what I did, I would have changed what happened prior to being chased, but I would not have pulled over. Id never try to run a ticket or something small, its not worth it.

Lol so your telling me that if you were doing twice the speed of a cop, with an exit that you could easily get away on, you would pull over and take it? If theres ****load of traffic or I don't have little more then a prayer of getting away I'll pull right over. But if that highways open, and I'm going fast enough where I got a good jump, hell yeah I'm going for it. And don't tell me you won't because you will. I said the same thing you did and I ate my words 2 days after I got my license. Totalled a nice car too.

Easier then what could have happened. The Supreme Court just heard a case where a 19 year old was paralyzed from the neck down after a collision that resulted from a PIT manuever executed by the persueing officer.

Your brother is very lucky that all he'll only have to deal with the legal consequences. Had he hurt or killed someone he would be really in a world of hurt.

Seriously, he was only facing a 15 over ticket? Real bad decision making...

Theres a difference I think between dipping off the highway and trying to hide, then to actually RUN from 6 cops that are chasing you through many, many towns. When I think of a chase, I dont think of someone who knows they are caught, trying to hide for a while to not get nabbed!

Exactly what I meant. If that cop didn't have a chance of getting your plate, the highway is wide open, and he's not going to catch you unless your gonna stop, who wouldn't? If he's got a chance it's time to pull over.
