Good Deal or Not (Mongoose)

I am looking at buying a used V1-S Trim Mongoose kit with about 4000 miles. It includes an accufab throttle body and plenum, and MPH boost pipe. The only things needed for completion is the tuner and plugs. The price will be $2500. Is this a good deal?

umm what about fuel pump and injectors?..it would be a good deal if it came with injectors and a fuel pump

They are included, along with an IAT sensor, basically everything, save for the tuner and plugs.

Would it be better to try to get a used 1.7L KB for around the same price with 8K miles. I just kind of figured I would rather buy a centrifugal used as opposed to a KB.

i would get the KB for the same price. a vortec kit is just over 3K new. a KB kit is around 5K

Talk to Tim at MPH. I got my complete kit with tune with only the head unit and AFM power pipe used for $2750. The blower only had 5k miles on it, and it was polished! From time to time his customer's will trade their units when they upgrade and they become available.

I have a vortech mongoose kit and wish I would have went KB

it's a good deal. for $3k or less, you can have a complete and tuned kit. not to mention the plenum and throttle body.

the Mongoose kit alone is something like $3,700 new and obviously doesn't come with the plenum or throttlebody.

just found out the price was actually raised to $3950 in March due to Vortech increasing prices by 10%.
