I noticed a small amount of fluid in the driveway and after I jacked up the drivers side , I noticed a small amount of fluid around the torx bit on the drivers side of the tranny( that holdes in the slider I ... think) I am pretty sure it's a no no to back this out but what about trying to tighten it? Just want to make sure I can't hurt anything as I can not afford a rebuild !! to stop the leak is there a sealer I can put around or should I just try to tighten it up a turn or two?

which one the top one or the bottom one?

dont loosen it! its the drain! give it a little turn to tighten it! not to much just a bit!

No its not. Those are on the other side.

The bottom one is a retainer for a spring used on 91-later t-5's with a torsion type spring on the 5-R reverse lever.

This is, the OP has an '89 so if it's the original trans he shouldn't have it.

The top one holds the 5-r lever in place. Do not remove this, but you can tighten it fine.

The one with the prongs is the reverse switch. You can remove this one fine
