I have the chance to buy some 2001 Cobra seats but wanted to know if they will fit the tracks in my 02 GT ok. Also, are they better as far as comfort compared to my stock leather GT seats?

They should have the same tracks on them. They are basically the same thing mechanically and structurally.
Much better support and appearance though.
If the seats have tracks, just bolt it in place of your seat. If the tracks are missing, yours will work

perfect fit and direct bolt in. 96-98 will work in 99-04 also but require some wiring mods. ask me how i know!
Would Cobra seats from a convertable fit in my coupe? I assume the fronts will but will the back seat?
Yes they will fit and honestly there is no real comparison in look and comfort between the 01 Cobra seats and GT seats. I had 2 GT's before this Cobra and hated the lack of overall support and comfort. I sit in traffic alot and they made my back hurt. These seats are awesome and actually hold you in place.

Depends on what you consider better. But i've sat in some '01 Cobra seats and they are pretty damn cozy
