stock ring and pinion gears?

what are the stock gears on a 94 gt auto vert? would an change to 3.55 ratio gears make a noticeable difference? i would prefer a 3.73 ratio gear but i have not seen any speedometer gears available for an automatic to correct the speedometer. information greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

you have 2:73s in now,if you decided to stay N/A and dont have a power adder for the future go to 3:90 or 4:10.

I did the 3:73s in my vert and notice a big difference.I got my speedo gear from 50 resto,i think i used the 3:55 one but it was only off by a small amount .

3:55s are not bad. their inbetween performance and econmy. since you have auto tranny, 410s will be great on your car. not saying 373s would be bad either.

if you don't know what you have, look on the tab on the rear end. I dont know if anyone else has it but I have 3.27 with lockers from the factory.....curious if anyone else has the same rear end as me....

I had 3:27's also. I believe that they were the most common gear for the auto 'vert. The axle code is also on the drivers side door jam sticker. Code letter "E" is for the 3:27.

To the question about the speedo gear for 3:73's. It's the 21 tooth gear (auto) and 23 tooth (not exact but close) for the 5 speed.

I just put 3.55s in my auto and there is definitely a noticeable difference from my stock 2.73s. I used a black 23 tooth speedo gear and I am right on. From what I have read, 3.55s is as high as you can go if you want to just change the speedo gear. You could get a speedcal and go with whatever ratio you want.

now i know i have 2:73s. whatever i do, my car feels like its missing something. ugghhhh cant wait to change them out.

i already have an 88 gt auto hatchback with 4.10s which is only a cruiser. which would be better, 3.55s or 3.73s for a daily driver?
