Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

not a fan of the snow really...my 3 year old loves it though...if the snow sticks I have to get my yota 4x4 at my dads accross town to make it to work. However like you snow is good for my line of work as well...lots of tow trucks will bring us wrecked cars. But id rather have sunny warm weather instead of snow

I'm not driving the mustang in the snow this year. Even though it's funny to pass people who have a jacked up 4x4 or jeep that's stuck in a ditch, and I'm in a lowered mustang. The looks on people's faces lol

Oregon drivers suck in snow. Everyone freaks out. Their bad enough when the roads are dry.

tell me about it! but you guys forgot all the people in washington that caint drive in the snow either! i was in portland all day today cruising the stang around and sledding! then i get back here to wash and nothing! man! peace

The vert will be parked until the roads clear.

I made the mistake last year of driving it to work when the roads were dry, then I got off work 12 hours later and there was 5 inches of snow on the ground.

It handled pretty good. I just took it slow and left plenty of stopping distance between me and the other cars. Except when I came to the stop sign by my house. It was on a slight hill. Maybe 5* incline. I was stuck.

I ended up doing a couple donuts until I built enough momentum up, then took a side road that parralelled the hill. My neighbors thought I was being a dumbass. But I could not leave my car parked in the middle of the road. :D

:lol:excellent! i had a few of those instances yeasturday also. i remember when i was like 17 in ohio i sat and watched a guy in a gen 1 GTA sit at a light for 7 light cycles trying to get across the enter section. jordon did you sell the cobra? peace

I've logged a ton of miles the last few days, way more than I usually do even in good weather because of helping a hospital bound friend and his family. Luckily, my '79 Bronco lives for this, even if it does guzzle the fuel... I've seen more wrecks and abandoned cars in two days than in the last two years, and I pity anyone who only has a Mustang to get around in this. Two crunched Mustangs in the I-205 corridor, but I do believe there were more crunched 4x4 vehicles than there were 2 wheel drive cars. Idiots do not seem to understand that there will be patches of ice under the overpasses. 80% of the accidents I saw were directly under bridges over the freeway. All you have to do is ease up on the throttle when you see the shiny stuff, saves you from having to pick up the pieces of your car around the bridge columns.

I heard that portland was impounding every vehicle that went off the road and everyone who did not have traction tires or chains.

We tow for the city as well as repo's, and I haven't heard that. I believe it's a careless driving ticket for not having chains or traction tires. They are having us stage trucks in certain areas of the freeways to tow any wrecked or immobile vehicles off the road as soon as possible. However, the city of portland is paying for most of the tows and they are only having us relocate them to Omsi or other approved parking lots and not impounding them. Normal rules apply still though, if you don't have insurance or a license then yes, it's your dime and our lot.

I heard my boss tell someone on the phone the other day to f-off because they wanted us to tow their Jeep Grand Cherokee when they couldn't make it up a hill in clackamas. He basically said, if you're 4x4 jeep can't make it, what makes you think I want to hook my $50k truck to it so they can both go sliding down the hill.

Edit: If you can't make it somewhere, just park it legally, if all you can find is private parking lots like apartment complexes and grocerie stores, just go talk to the managers, most are understanding and will let you park there. If you don't, those same understanding managers will have you towed.

or better yet! if you caint drive or arent comfortable driving in the snow....just dont go out!obviously most of the people out there caint drive in it or have very little experience in it! and the 4x4's ...they just think ooh i got 4x4 i can go anywhere i want! peace

I waited a couple of days for the roads to kind of settle before I took the f250 turbo diesel out joyriding. It's 2wd and 19 feet 6 inches long. That thing goes sideways for minutes at the crack of the throttle. I was doing this at night, of course.

beings were on the subject of snow, one of my queens has this lever you push and it goes anywhere I point it in the snow:nice:

Had to pull a neighbor out this mornin who was stuck at the bottom of a little hill in our neighborhood. He kept banging his rear tires againest the curb. Also went up to Larch, made almost a C note pulling rigs out of the ditch. 4 cable chains one a 4x4 with 37's that have lockers in both pumpkins can be a fun ride:nice::nice:

That just sounds funny. The V with a Queen in the garage. Is the queen paid for?

All my cars are paid for... The garage and the house... :D

The funny thing is we got two front wheel drive Honda Civics but other than the Jeep, the Cobra is the only one I have chains for. Fortunately the wife works at the hospital where I work so if we both work the same day, we just drive each other to work.

Thats a nice RAM you got Cory, bet you are glad gas prices came down...:nice:

Last year up at Mt Hood Natl forest. With studded tires its a lot of fun on the ice and slush.
