Please Help!! Voltage issues or so I think...

Ok, so update.

Replaced the fuel sending unit, fuel filter and fuel pump. Test drove it and the issue crept back although the fuel level in the filer looks much better than before. On the way home (15 min drive) the issue did not happen at all.

I am so confused. We drained the tank and there was not a lot of crud or anything of the sort.

What we did do was take the gas cap off and tape over the opening to see if there was some sort of vapor lock for the 15 min drive back and the issue didnt happen. Could it be something like that?

68er - That might be the next step to go to the ignition system but I am getting tired of throwing money at the car and my wallet keeps getting lighter.

Let me know what you all think? The issue is so random and sparatic I have no idea but my frustration level is building...

Quick question for you. Do still have your resistor wire in use or did you bypass it? Reason I'm asking is that I had similiar problems, turned out the resistor wire was getting hot & increasing
in resistance. So if you already bypassed it since you have electronic ignition, you might try that.

G/L, sparky!!!

Good call sparky, I was just about to ask that.

Also, if you want to take the fuel tank completely out of the mix, buy some rubber hose and run it off of a gas can. You can put the gas can behind the drivers seat and pop the body plug out. There should be a rubber fuel line on the drivers side that joins 2 sections of hard line together. You can plug the hardline from the tank and feed the hard line going to the engine with the rubber line that comes through the body plug. Remember to clamp everything and also this is just for testing purposes ! Don't run your car like this perminately as its REALLY unsafe !

Hey Sparky, excuse my ignorance or stupidity but resistor wire? Where is this located and what is the purpose of the wire. The motor was installed and built by a performance shop so I really don't know what they did or how it was wired.

Any information you can provide will aid in locating this wire and working on a bypass. How do I go about a bypass of this wire?
