Yes, you're right Walter, that the problem is not with the cars, but the people who think that just because they drive one they are better then everyone else and deserve special treatment. And that is why I will protest every time that I go to that building and park in one of those spots. There are designated handicap spots because people who are handicapped may have difficulty walking an entire football field to go into walmart, and that is only fair for them to have designated parking to help meet their needs. Of course, there are LOTS of people who have handicap tags that do not need them, or that borrow them from friends or family. And I know a couple of people who have hang tags and would benefit from using them, but refuse to because even though it might be easier, the extra walking does them good, and there are others with a far greater need for the spots. But giving "Car Pool" and "Fuel Efficent" cars special parking right up fromt is plain discrimination. It is not done out of need, but simply another justification of the "holyer than thou" attitude.
Also, as far as U.S. available fuel efficent cars go, particularly hybrids, the Prius is one of the best. It actually has decent passenger room, it does actually have some usable cargo space, and the acceleration is decent. One of my co-workers drives one, and he's always sneaking up on me because I can't hear him coming......LOL He really likes the car, but to him it's just A CAR......not a way of life. I really like my Mustang, and I take alot of pride in taking care of it and modding it. But, i don't think that I'm better than anyone else because of it.
