I have an 89 Mustang GT 302ci 5.0 i have been having problems with the start for some time, and can't just seem to get it fixed I have replaced the start 7 times with the same type of starter and I had just recently bought a Torque mini starter which seems to start it and turn it over and run

but now the issue is while it's starting as it's turning over it makes an annoying grinding sound and starts sometimes hard to start it, i dont wanna jus keep trying to start it like this, i thinking it might be the battery not putting off enough cranking amps. i had taken the transmission out to replace the clutch flywheel and start, everything is brand new. i just bought the torque start yesturday and put it in, and its still grinding even though everything is brand new... I hope I have explained everything thoroughly to be of understanding for people to help me out with this.. Any help is much appreciated thanks...

Sounds like somehting is misaligned. Is it the proper flywheel for the car? Are all the dowels in the proper spot for the bellhousing? Bell housing misalignment may be your problem.

Bell housing misalignment??? I don't understand, everything is lined up went it fine bolted up good but this isnt the original motor for this car how would i go about finding out what year the engine is and all information for it?

I read on a previous thread from another site from someone else haveing this problem here is a picture, is this correct or do i need to move those wires??

If you have a starter with a piggyback solenoid, you might want to move the starter cable to the battery lug of the solenoid. Then run a 12 AWG wire from the now-vacant lug to the piggyback solenoid's trigger.

Thats what i just did, its still doing it. Everything is brandnew

I think my problem might also be that my battery it only putting out barely 10volts maybe little less
cause it turns over slow also

Charge it up and/or have it tested (once charged). Trying to start a car on a half-dead battery can take out the solenoid, so don't crank it too much while it's like this.
