i went to the track for the first time last week. i was real happy with my times honestly as it was. i do have a few things i discovered and am addressing before my return trip. one of them being that my oem ssp tach is WAY off. when i was dyno tuned it was in the neighborhood of 800-900 rpm's off at 6200.

so i am considering a shift light again. i dont want a big monster tach, nothing on the steering column. i was thinking maybe stuffed behind a dash speaker grill?

give me your idea's/pics if possible and which light you use. i want to make sure im shifting it where i should be.

Raptor shift light in the drivers side vent, since you have the gauge cage in the center one. I'll see if I can find the picture I saw of that setup.

EDIT:

Here it is.

i've got one of the autometer digital tachometer/shiftlights in my 99 and love it. Its a 2 1/4' gauge and fits right in my gauge pod, most people don't know what it is when they see it.

Auto Meter Digital Pro Shift Systems - JEGS

I have the same one - level 2 version - and love it too. I mounted mine on the steering column cover so I could easily watch the revs - the stock tach is stuck on approx 4000 rpms..

Crap pics but you get an idea:

Hell yes you can see the shift light when it's hidden in the vents! I had mine mounted in the center vents on johns car when i had it. I took it out for the gauges that are/were in there now. peace
