89 LX 5.0 With 86 motor HELP

I dropped a motor from an 86 5.0 into my 89 LX. Nothing changed, comp is the factory 89. T-5 tranny. I recently found today that for some odd reason the 86 5.0's have Flat top Pistions..?:notnice: I was wonder what problems could i face as far as this swap AS IS.. being as the 89 is MAF and the 86 is not. Will the comp have trouble with A/F mix or ect. and also, would it just be a better idea to build a separate 5.0 and drop it in later? Seeing as how i've got the dreams for a 347 Stroker..:D Any help would be great.. Ive got a few other quirks here and there but this being my first thread, wana make sure im doin this right.. Thanks
 
The 86 model 5.0 Mustang came with different heads (E6??). They didn't breathe as good as the later model 87-93 E7 heads.

sounds good, also i was wondering about an E303 cam... sense the 86 has the flat top pistions, if i went with a newer model STOCK heads, would i be able to acually run the E303 without having valve piston contact...??? so mad i didnt know about the pistons b4 i dropped the motor in, but i guess you live n you learn.. (my first mustang build btw).. lol
