how to lower my car 2 inches?

i trying to find springs to lower my car 2" but i cant find any springs that says more than 1.5 for a 1989 convertible. is there anything with adjustable ride height? or is my only option to cut the springs?

You could go with coilovers or weight jacker control arms. But I wouldn't recommend going over 1.5 inches anyway, you'll run into all kinds of problems. Ask anyone here.

What he said. Coil overs and weight jackers should do it.
But 2"inches is too low and unpractical on a street driven Fox. Besides absolutely terrible ride quality you'll bottom out on every bump or uneven road condition you come across.

You'll also need to buy highly adjustable caster camber plates up front as well because your front end alignment will need to be reset up.

There are reasons why you don' want to go lower than 1.5". Even that is borderline too much. You can really only go about 3/4" to 1" before you start to ruin the suspension geometry.

I put some steeda sports on my car and they settled in at a little more than 11/2 drop. a little more than i wanted but nothing i cant live with.

Heat up the springs with a blow torch, that will get you 2 inches.

I put eibach sportlines on mine recently and am thoroughly impressed.

The previous owner had cut stock coils for about a 2.5 drop and it rode basically just off the bump stops. The sportlines (at about an inch less) are perfect to me. Oddly enough i never have had any bumpsteer problems even with the cut coils.

I had the Sportlines on one of my Foxes and I don't remember the exact drop but it was lower than I expected. I wouldn't want to go that low again I didn't clear many speed bumps and couldn't get it on ramps w/o driving up on blocks of wood first.

Coilovers with a bump steer kit, CC plates and stock GT springs with 1 coil cut in the rear is the buisness.

My exact setup is strange coil overs with 12'' 150 lb springs, upr billet CC plates, and comp engineering bumpsteer kit up front with stock GT springs with one coil cut from them and rolled and smoothed fender lips

It's not dangerous when set up right. I dont know how much lower than a stock car it is, but i would put money on it that its more than 1.5 inches. Ive been over 120mph on this setup with no stability issues.

Hack Job, for those who remember it, and even 1990Coupes white hatach both have Steeda Sport springs. Those cars are slammed IMO. I had 17's and 1990Coupe has 18's. I don't think you could get much lower than our cars were/are with those Steedas.

sorry to bring back this thread. Im running sportlines springs, removed the bottom iso, and also have steeda x2 ball joints which lowered it another 1/4 inch mine sits kinda low.

My car had ford racing lowering springs. 1 inch in the front and half inch in the back.
