Just curious if anybody else is addicted to anything other than Mustangs... Guitar is probably my greatest passion. I've got a bunch - half acoustic and half electric. I consider myself an acoustic player - I kinda suck at it, but it is a vehicle for songwriting which I enjoy. Best acoustic - probably either my Gibson J-200 or my Guild D-55. On the electric side I have a custom built guitar by Stol Guitars that is a gem.

I do but I suck at it. My two better guitars are my Martin DM acoustic and my Fender American Stratocaster. I bought my son a Behringer MetAlien but he never really got into it so I keep it for goofing around.

I own a vintage (1960s) Teisco Del Rey with the original Kingston vacuum-tube amp. They still work, but numerous attempts to learn to play from books and video have failed, so they basically sit there and look pretty.

Here's my Stol Electric...

I played a little bit a few years ago but I suck at it now. I've been wanting to get back into it but haven't put in the time for it. I have one acoustic...a Brownsville I think.

I haven't played it in years, but I have a Fender HM-Strat. It's pretty awesome... I bought it used when I was 11 years old with money I accumulated from birthday, allowance, and mowing yards. It's old, a little beat up (not bad though), and whoever had it before me painted the body a color similar to sonic blue (beats the original color... Neon pink). If you haven't heard of the HM-Strat, google it.

Heavy Metal Stratocaster! It has one hell of a crunch.

Thinking I'm going to learn how to play this year. I tried years back, but lived in the middle of nowhere Virginia and it was hard to go to any lessons. Now that I'm back home, I can go to lessons down the street from my shop. Besides, Youtube has blown up and is loaded with tutorials.

Guitar is about all I do not play. I let my wife specialise in that. Three trap sets are taking up one garage stall. Brass, saxophones and other wind gigs have paid for many Mustang parts.I am sad to see the big band and polka crowds get too old to dance. It was fun, the food and drink were fine, and the pay was worth my evening! The party cover bands seem like more hassle, but it's the difference in leaders. The older groups were led by trained musicians. The country party cover band leader was led by a music lover who did not need the money. But still wanted to make it big.

I used to try to play a lot and still think in musical terms quite often. About thirty years ago I made about half my income buying and selling them. I kept most of the good acoustics that needed repaires over the years. All the electrics have long ago been sold with the exception of a couple of Fender clones I've built - a copy of a 55 strat and a Merle Haggard "Big Dog" tele. Billy

I play. Actually, I make a living playing music.

Right now my Dodge Ram is down. I'm trying to run a studio and do live recording using the Mustang as my daily driver.

At the moment I'm not Mustang friendly in regard to room.

@revvv Do you have a hatch or coupe? If I can get a Sousaphone and chair or tuba and a trombone in a Hatchback Fox, with a woofer tube, how big of amp stack do you travel with and how many axes?
Convertible.

As for my gear; I am also a bassist. I have an 8x10 cab, a 4x8, and a 1x15 (I am a Hartke artist, but the 4x8 is a vintage Ampeg.

My main basses are a Fender P Bass Special Deluxe and a G&L L2000.

My guitar line up: Fender Strat, Tele, a Music Man Axis, Gibson ES335, and a custom Breedlove acoustic.

I also have a full studio running Cubase Pro 8 as my main DAW. It would take a full day to list all of the toys that are involved with the studio and PA rig.

Right now I get by with a Sansamp DI when playing live bass out, and if I play guitar I use a Randall RG75 G2. The Randall doesn't mind laying sideways (no tubes). It also sounds great clean and with my pedal board set up. A Tube Screamer or two are miracle pedals.

Well that's two problems, a convert. and that much music. That's why I just have sun roof and hatch back Mustangs. I hope your truck is a cheap fix!
There wasn't a hatchback available in 2002 [emoji17]

I wish the truck was a cheap fix. The bottom radiator hose dropped without me knowing it. The truck ran hot without any warning (no coolant means there was nothing for the sensors to detect). The Ram shut itself off.

I have never had an engine run as hot as this one. Even when I was racing cars as a kid. I used to have a 71 Chevelle SS, and it hated red lights and traffic. It knew two things; launch and go fast.

Long story short, I have a Dodge Ram that needs a new motor. The heads got hot enough to change colors. Oddly enough, nothing is warped. The head gaskets didn't blow either. I had an oil and coolant milkshake though. That tells me I have a cracked head or block. Regardless, I am certain the bearings are just as fried as the cams.

As for music equipment; is there such a thing as too much equipment? It only required a 26" moving truck with an overhead compartment to carry my gear when I moved.

I do make a living with the equipment.

I have to wonder what the value of that Big Dog Tele is worth after today?

RIP Merle.
