I still think it's a solution looking for a problem. News organizations tend to harp on one sided arguments and never both sides. I'm not for reassignment surgery in anyone under 18 nor targeting preteens with an agenda that pushes sexual orientation towards any of the various letters assigned the that movement. I do think making kids aware there are different people in the world is not a bad thing. I guess it's a fine line but I don't look at it as indoctrination. If there are concerted efforts to push it's not wholesale in education.
My worry is there are those who may need a surgical solution but are then blocked due to unnecessary laws. I had an aunt who was born with mostly female parts but had the pubic bone of a male. She could not have kids because of the bone structure inside her uterus. She had to have surgery to remove that in order to function as a female. My concern is with this rush to "save the children" that needed surgery to save someone's life is going to hurt someone much the same way as restrictions to abortion have done since Roe vs Wade has affected life savings abortions. There is an incident locally where a woman was having a miscarriage and was told to leave the hospital and come back after she had completely miscarried because the hospital was afraid they would be held liable. Meanwhile she nearly bled to death.
Another fear is the negative publicity always seem to lead to some unhinged individuals lashing out. There are millions of untraditional families in this country and they could be targeted just because they are different. We supposedly live in a free country but to some it means only if you live and believe a certain way
I'm still not afraid of rainbows. To each his own.
