$100k?

Easy to get to that number if built by a shop. 20-30k in the car and parts and 800 hours (not hard to do that) and you are over $100k in spend. Is it worth that to pay as an enthusiast wanting to get into a car - to some yes, to me, no. I would rather build it than buy it.

I'm the same, if I can do it myself or if I can't I will learn. 44yrs I've been driving mine and the only time its been in a shop was a clutch job 30yrs ago. Didn't have the space. If someone is going to put a wrench on my baby it's me only.

Nope, over paid for the car on hype, then over paid an influencer to bolt it together while he used it for content to make money off lol. Break down parts vs labor would be interesting, parts selection shows its check writer build. that said many parts prices now are down right retarded thanks to PE groups roll up strategies, trumps tarrifs, and down right greed. I wouldn't even build a sbf using new parts these days for a street engine, cost is no longer worth the return.

100k in a fox body I would expect much more than that, especially if this is the enginefactory 347. the basic one is a Stock block, and a bunch of heavily marked up China parts, even uses one of the cheapest China head castings, the $400 yongyu dart pro1 clones, claiming there 180/60 cc tells me then never poured a single casting.... https://enginefactory.com/ford-performance-engines/347-ford-425-hp-stroker/

Watching the video to the end got the price break down - 75k in the car, paint and parts with 20k in labor from Chris. Now the labor number does not seem ridiculous as it is likely only around 200 hours. I personally would not spend that much in parts for a build, but to each their own.
