    money to burn!!!

1200 isn't going to cover everything needed to do heads. i would recommend a new intake manifold and some exhaust stuff, most importantly an off-road midpipe (assuming you don't need to worry about emissions). think about 3.73 0r 4.10 gears, too.

    throttle body studs?

no problem, glad i could help! good luck on the swap, it's pretty straight forward. i think it's covered in the faq thread, too.

    throttle body studs?

can't you just use two nuts tight against each other and use a wrench on the inner nut? that should work fine, unless i misunderstood your question.

    RTV and lower intake question

the rtv needs to cure after you put the intake on, not before. put the intake on right after you rtv it. once you've bolted it down, it needs to cure for however long it says on the package. it's best not to run the engine until after that amount of time has passed. like djha90 said, don't...

    WTF?! It won't start

what true blue said, the timing may have gotten messed up. messed up timing can stop a car from starting. this may seem obvious, but has he tried starting it under full throttle?

    another head/cam swap completed

thanks guys.:) it ended up costing more than originally thought, but that's how it always goes. road runna, the cold air intake looks bad because the rubber has moved some and the paint stuck to it, exposing the white pvc. i'll probably make a new one or repaint it this summer.

hoofnit, thanks. this site and corral were great resources. pretty much every question raised during the project was solved by doing a couple searches. there are a lot of people on the forums (including myself) who will gladly answer any questions you may have. good luck!:nice:

    another head/cam swap completed

jake, ed recommended the bigger studs. don't know if they are necessary, but i took his word for it. i went with the comp pro mags because, according to ed, they are the only rockers that fit under the stock valve covers, and i didn't want to worry about new vcs that fit the bigger rockers and...

94dreamgt, thanks, it does feel good! did you adjust the idle on the throttle body? i know that's not supposed to be a permanent solution, so it's one reason why i'm getting a tweecer. i didn't pull the motor, but i did have to disconnect some things to get everything out of the way...

    another head/cam swap completed

over spring break i installed afr heads, an fti cam, a pioneer balancer, comp pro mag 1.6 rockers, and some other stuff. this was my first time getting that deep into the motor, and i ran into several problems, but when it was time to turn the key, she started. i was pretty happy. :banana...

well, that sucked. party got shut down at 10:30 because the police said it wasn't registered, even though it was. everyone was pretty pissed. i hate this damn school. we're going to take some sort of action against the school to try to get some money back considering the huge amount we had...

it's actually our parking lot party, the biggest party of the year. we've been on social probation, so we missed last year, sadly. we have a band in our parking lot, a dj in the house, a fence around the property, and a hell of a lot of fun.

hah pabst is the preferred keg, but we can't have kegs for this party. and for some reason, the beast isn't big here. it was back in minnesota, but not here, strangely.
