Whats better then the aluminum D.S.

If the vibration started after you put in gears, I'd be having a good hard look at the pinion nut. Don't be too surprised if it needs to be tightened up.

    Help me pick an intake......

    Here's a real world combo for consideration: 87 GT T-tops - (3620# w/driver) DSS306 - stock part bottom end w/forged pistons (I don't recall the CR, but I think it was 10.0:1) Holley Systemax heads & intake (unported) 70mmTB 77mm Pro-M bullet Comp Cams XE-274-HR 1-3/4 long tubes T-5...

What happens if you break your ECT sensor? Can I still drive my car?

It's driveable, but the computer will never see that the engine is at NOT so it won't change the fuel/timing curves.

    Help me pick an intake......

I usually toss the summit catalog from the mailbox to the trash, so I don't have the graphs to look at. Peak numbers aren't a very efficient way to compare the intakes. You need to look at the area under the curves and compare where the curves are at different RPM's. A car running 4.30's...

    driveshaft interchange

Here's the Fitment Chart for it. If you're running a TKO/TKO2/TKO500 or 600 in a 79-95, then you use this one (higher spline count on the yoke)

Anyone's BBK LT's rub the steering shaft.

you shouldn't have any trouble doing it at home with jackstands :nice:

Went to rebuild trac-loc and pinion shaft hits ring gear: 4.56's

If you push the pin through 'til it hits the ring gear, is there enough room on the opposite side to get the c-clips out? I wouldn't go grinding on anything just yet. There wasn't any grinding necessary to put it in there. I've never worked 4.56's but I'm thinking they may have put the pin...

    Zero Balance Windsor crankshaft?

I think he meant the crankshaft that might cause 'stalling issues or a rough/choppy idle' So many people use the factory imbalance because they can reuse factory parts and upgrade to better quality as the funds become available. If you use a zero balance crank, you're forced to...

Anyone's BBK LT's rub the steering shaft.

As long as they're the same size collectors. A 3" Prochamber won't bolt up to a 2-1/2" header collector.

Anyone's BBK LT's rub the steering shaft.

Socket on the extension - held against the header where the steering shaft passes through and then another person with a hammer & long extension coming in from the wheelwell. The headers are off the car now. I'll try to get a picture up in the next couple of days.

Anyone's BBK LT's rub the steering shaft.

You'll sand a whole in the pipe before you get enough clearance. I used an impact socket with an extension as a handle and dented in the pipe to make a 'relief' for the steering shaft. No problems since :nice:

    roll cages

It's not too bad once you get used to it. Your call on the swingout. I'm not sure I'd trust the latch/pin on a swingout for a serious side impact, but it'd be better than no bar at all. It'd be very handy if you wanted to run the street without it and then just put it in at the track when...

    tps sensor

I've got this book somewhere, but I've never spent much time in it so forgive me for not bowing to Mr Probst just yet. I've got one curious question though(which I might have already known if I'd read the book :D ): How does the computer know that the throttle is closed? I thought the voltage...

Need input on fixing my dashboard lights

The pin configuration is different on 87-89. You need a 90-93 harness end and switch. You can make the 87-89 work. You just have to remove all the wires from the harness end and reinstall them in the matching spot for the older switch.

bad plug wires..wich ones to get ???

Only because I've never had a set in my hands to check. I'm getting the FireWires for my 408 if I ever get to putting everything back together. I think the MSD SuperConductors are also advertised at 25. Never seen a set of those either.

    Fuel System, need advice

Define - 'full drivebility benefits'. I didn't have any issues at all. And my dyno data showed that my setup was right on the money. And that was no chip/no tune. Actually that was a 'seat of the pants/mph' tune :D. At the dyno I asked Chris Winters (CrazyHorse) what I could adjust...
