    Question about upgrades...

Don't forget what you need to tune that beast. Think about it 3K for 200hp (maybe) or 3K for one bad ass 300+ HP turbo motor. . . You can buy the SVO dual exhaust to bolt up (with some work) to the n/a or straight up to the turbo. . .

    Question about upgrades...

You might wanna scratch the whole hypereutectic piston idea and run a forged slug with that 100 shot of nitrous you have planned. Pro-M makes probably one of the best MAS. Looks like you picked the racer walsh mech. roller cam. You will want at -least- the "B" valve springs and "A" solid lash...

    Driving with 4.10's....

Most of the roads I drive on are 30mph. I start in 2nd, go to 4th, and then put it in 5th when I get to 30 and cruise nice and easy. I haven't noticed any negative effect around town. .

    EFI systems

twEECer makes a setup for the svo ECU's. . .SDS is nice because you don't need your laptop to change anything and it's pretty simple to understand and navigate(which some in handy when you start tuning and you get a little stressed, lol) I have a friends running one on his pretty wild lil s/c...

Who else notices the 4.10s sucks from a 70+ roll...

yeah, le 4.10's are great for the high speed rolls...going 70 hit fourth, which drops you right at the begining of the powerband, till 6K which comes soon and then 5th until they give up. ..def. pulls harder to me in 5th. . .wayyy better than 3.08's, well, until I redline in 5th. . .but I'll get...

The most I can do to my N/A, no turbo or nitrous.

Bolt on V-Tech kit? J/K Crovax is right on. If you plan to do some porting then a cam would fit right in to the mix.

Ok couple of questions about my finally finished 2.3

Sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging. An adjustable cable(or firewall adj.) can cure this up. My 96 did that with the new KC clutch, got a new adj. cable, adjusted it and worked like magic.

Where to get a turbo manifold?

I have been looking at Rod's header and it looks like the way I'm going to go. Looks like a nice part. and it's priced pretty well, 505.00 for the config I want. . .

    Anybody want a 96 GT?? :D Combo Q also. . .

On the head I will probably port it myself. I was looking to just add some volume and clean up the intake side and really focus on velocity in the exhaust. I'll probably just do minor CC work and polish the **** out of the CCs. It looks like I will be using a DIS/DP head, as these cars sem to be...

    Anybody want a 96 GT?? :D Combo Q also. . .

Well I'm getting more serious by the day with selling my GT and getting an 89-93 LX coupe 5spd. and tossing a turbo setup in it. Right now I have planned to get a SS header with a divorced WG setup, running a tial 38MM WG, a T3/T04E turbo(50 trim .63), 21x9x3 FMIC, ProM univer MAF, and 42lb...

    Turbocharging later model 2.3 Q's. . .

I've been thinking about picking up a later model 2.3 5spd. (90-93ish) and putting a turbo setup in it. I have seen a lot on the TC engine swaps and whatnot but is it feesible to just put a turbo on the motor and tune it with it's current computer? I ask this because I like the mass air system...

Drivetrain Loss: Understanding it, and Improving it?

You won't gain HP, you will just be able to see what you had been losing to parasitic loss. Say the car is a 250 FWHP car and it puts 225 to the wheels. Adding the lighter stuff may allow you to see 230 to the wheels but it's still a 250 FWHP car.

Installed XE278's, springs, new NPI heads

I know they have a bad(good:D) lope, but it loads up with fuel real bad at idle and wants to die sometimes.

Installed XE278's, springs, new NPI heads

1ba96gt: If you still have the stuff I have a buddy who wants the same setup on his 98. Let me know and I'll hook you two up. On the heads the intake was shaped to help it match the PI intake and I used a PI gasket as well, works great. I haven't had a dyno done yet. I really need to. There's a...

Installed XE278's, springs, new NPI heads

I just got done with my install of a slightly used set of ported NPI heads, Mod Max Valve springs, and XE278's. All I can say is WOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!! This car rocks at idle and once it hits the powerband it hits like a shot of the juice. It revs much more freely and just pulls up to the...

    302 V8 conversion

The rear is good until he starts beating on it, especially at the track. With any kind of traction it will be at risk, then again depending on the power level. You will also need to use accessory brakets and accessories from a 5.0, you will need a new guage cluster(I would use a custom set up...

Well crap, I though this was a better pic but I have the Steeda knob and I love it. Although I did almost burn a steeda logo in my palm on one of our 100+ degree days. . .

Fuel Puddling Issues with NX Kit

On return-style fuels systems aka 96-97's (and of course the 5.0) then all that is needed is to introduce pressure to the vac. reference port on the fuel pressure regulator. This is done by taking a bit of nitrous passing it through a regulator (on NOS kits its the blue thing between the...

Anybody paint manifold or timing cover??

I did my PI intake with high temp Cast Silver engine paint. I degreased the intake, used med then fine sand paper to take off and rough edges and such then I primed with plastic primer and them painted. Looks awesome and everyone asks where in the hell did I get an aluminum intake, lol.
