    87 5.0 AOD Speed density.... I've never had it popping/burping sound from exhaust till after changing Ignition modules and replacing bad connector to module... It was really bad popping at 5 degrees base...I thought it might be lean condition....I bumped the timing to 10 to 11 degrees most...

    Cant check it till get new ignition module.....but after replacing first one the car was at 12 and backed it down to 10. since have a AOD computer cant do much more than that without pinging

    Yeah I can disconnect coil and the sound is same when trying to start plus held plug in hand to see spark. when I replaced the module last time it fired right up and ran good for a little while.....I dont drive this car everyday thank god

    I have a 87 5.0..still speed density... The problem is that a month ago the car died on me....replaced the ignition module and it worked for a couple weeks had the timing set a 10 deg base....and when it got warm when I stomped on any it sounded like burping and poping....then it started...

    Changed TPS and made couple adjustments and it idles at 1000. any lower it starts to surge. seems to be running good now

    It wasnt stuck it has free play. When it was running right itwas about 950 rpms I got on it a few times and was going to the strip and on the way there and when I was there it acts like the throttle is stuck open when its not.
