Anyone running a Comp Nostalgia Cam?

I flattened a lobe and am debating between a XE256H and the Nostalgia N+271H. I dont want to go with any more lift cause I dont want a press-in stud to pull out. Basically, the Nostalgia is a hydraulic version of the K-code cam, with a few spec changes. I'm just wondering if anyone has...

Pic of 8" carnage; advice on 9" needed.

I live in Santa Rosa and have a friend in Placerville (near Sacramento) who takes 8" axel tubes and fits them on 9" center sections. If you provided him with the remains of your disaster, he could make you an axel like Shelby's: 9" center with 8" outer tubes, and no need to modify your brakes...

    Car Audio experts, step inside....

Looks like only some of those wiring kits will transfer a digital signal to the deck. I believe some of the others are just sending analog signals to a CD-changer or AUX input But if youre like me and have loud mufflers, you wont notice the difference when the cars racing a Camaro.

I ditched my head unit and just run the amp straight off my iPod. The audio isnt as good, since the analog output on the iPod is designed for head phones, but it still sounds good. If you buy a deck with and iPod interface, then you will benefit from a digital signal and better audio quality.

but I wouldn't say that the amps of today are built worse than the ones made way-back-when. Today, stereos use better power transistors, DSP (digital signal processing), and control systems in various parts of the device. Some of today's stereos can do more than what personal computers did ten...

i have a similar eclipse amp. you might check to make sure there arent any loose wires. after you try iskwezm's idea, this this: try plugging in an ipod or discman with headphone jack into the preamp in. this requires a cord with head phone jack for the ipod on ine side, and red/white rca...

    Need advise on car purchase

85 and newer 5.0s have roller cams 86 and newer have roller cams with EFI I just put a 92 5.0 HO in a hot rod, and probably wont do EFI again. Carbs are way simpler. People could argue EFI vs. carb all day, but carbs are easier for most people to troubleshoot. If you dont want to rebuild...

How much power can an 8" really take ?

While we're talking about breaking axles and rear ends... How much of a beating can a 9" from a '77-'78 Versailles take? Lets assume an AOD is in front of it. I know its only 28 spline and isnt as strong as a Currie, but its stronger than the 8". I recently bought a complete one, emergency...

    Rearend Swap info - FAQ

Which Ford cars use 35 spline pinions? Anyone know what rear ends use a 35 spline pinion/yoke? I bought a complete Lincoln Versailles for my 66 fastback. It has Trac-Lok and so the only thing I'm planning on changing is the ring/pinion gears (to 4.11) and to get a yolk for u-joints...

Electrical plug on my AOD: what does it do?

I have an AOD from a 1992 GT HO thats going in a 41 Mercury. I cant figure out what the plug near the kick-down linkage does. My only guess is a gear control to turn off the overdrive. The plug connects to a pigtail (about a foot long), and does not connect anywhere to my painless wiring...

Will a 94-95 upper intake fit on my 92?

Im dropping a 1992 5.0 HO motor in a 41' Mercury Woodie and the trottle body has clearance issues with my battery. I would like to angle the intake 45degrees like on the SN95 intakes, but will the upper manifold swap? i dont know if the mounting is the same or if they have different...

    possible colapsed lifter?

so i just removed the valve cover where the rocker arm noise was and noticed that when the car is running, i have almost no oil squirting out of one of the rocker arms. i am guessing that it is something wrong with the hydraulic lifter, but dont know why it would do this. i hope that replacing...

    How much for my fastback?

i thought about selling mine, but i figured that id rather take it off the road and buy a cheap ranger that i drive every day. i dont work on the ranger and its reliable. its also SAFER. if you worked so hard on it, then you will regret selling it and then it will be too late. plus, you...
