    Portable Dyno / Tuning Question

giddyup306, I'm not sure if they are SAE standardized or not. I see on the sheet it says "Correction Factor 0.98 SAE" does that mean anything?

    Portable Dyno / Tuning Question

In May I had my car dyno'd on a portable dyno operated by Mid Atlantic Dynosports at the Wildwood Classic Car Show in Wildwood, NJ and got the following numbers : The only mods to the car at that time were: air silencer removed, K&N panel filter, FMS shorty headers, 2.5" MAC cat pipe, 2.5"...

    Wierd starting problem?????

More great news..... I started checking and cleaning all the ground straps I could find and of course the last one (the one going into the timing cover) gives me a problem. The "ear" of the timing cover, I guess where Ford used to put the mechanical fuel pumps, snapped off. Luckily no leaks...

    Wierd starting problem?????

From the looks of the starter, it is the original. The alternator has a Ford remanufactured sticker on it, so it's been replaced at some point.

    Wierd starting problem?????

Okay guys need some advice. I went for gas tonight and the car wouldn't start at the pump after filling up. I'm thinking there is a dead spot in my starter. I turned the key and got a "click" and what I'll describe as a half a crank. I tried a couple of times and noticed smoke coming out...

    Aluminum Driveshaft & Magnaflow Exhaust

He told me the reason the cat-back kit doesn't fit right is because I'm not using a magnaflow midpipe (X or H). He said if I return my system from "wherever I bought it", and bought the X or H pipe and the cat back system from him, he would install everything for a little over $1000. I told...

    Aluminum Driveshaft & Magnaflow Exhaust

I talked to a local custom exhaust shop today who told me that he sells Magnaflow mufflers exclusively because they are the best out there (which made me feel good about my purchase). When I explained to him my clearance issues, he when on a rant about how his business is dying because people...

    Aluminum Driveshaft & Magnaflow Exhaust

Thanks for replying guys. My motor mounts and trans mount are new. I was wondering if I bent the "tangs" on the H-pipe, maybe that would make the exhaust hang a little lower. I just don't know what to do anymore..... :bang:

Still Havent Rebalanced/Replaced driveshaft (vibration) anything bad happening?

I bought the FMS Alum DS to cure a vibration after my 3.55's were installed. It cured the vibration, but now there are clearance issues with the muffler, ebrake, etc... so I'm thinking of having my stock one rebalanced and reinstalled.

    Aluminum Driveshaft & Magnaflow Exhaust

A while back I had 3.55's installed and of course got a vibration with the stock driveshaft. I was told the FMS aluminum driveshaft would cure the vibes, and it did. However, it rubbed on the Flowmaster exhaust (that was on the car when I bought it) and the previous owner felt the need to weld...

    What is the Carbon Can

Could you use a vented gas cap to vent the fumes? My dad has a '70 Chevelle with a vented cap and he said it's the same idea as the charcoal canister only less "environmentally friendly".

    130K + Blower = ?

Anyone put a blower on their high mileage (over 130k) Mustang? Even though the 302 is a pretty tough motor, I heard it's not a good idea. Do you think a basic 5psi kit would harm a high mile (but well maintained) mustang?

    shift light setting

I agree with Stangbear427. I had my car dyno'd in May and found I was making peak hp between 4600-4800 rpm. Prior to the dyno run, I had been shifting at the track as high as 5800 rpm - 1000 rpm past peak! I can't wait to get back to the track and lower that shift point! I wonder what it...

Driveshaft rubs on e-brake cable bracket!

E-brake cable bracket rubs on driveshaft! I have an '88 coupe that I installled the FMS aluminum driveshaft to eliminate the vibrations from the 3.55 gears. The vibrations went away, but now whenever I have more than 1 person in the car and I go over a dip in the road where the body "squats"...

How do you line up the gaskets?

I'm not sure, I haven't tried it yet. I just figured I would see if anyone who has already done it might have some advice. Thanks for the tip. Anybody else????

How do you line up the gaskets?

Where do you line up the gaskets? I am looking to port my E7's and my Tmoss lower to the Fel-Pro 1250 gasket. My question is where do you set the gasket to do the porting? Do you line up the top of the gasket with the top of the head / intake and port from there? Do you center the gasket...
