How to get a 5.0L to spin to 7k RPM?

So why can't the 5.0L rev that high? Why is a long rod 331 the weapon of choice? Don't you want a shorter stroke to rev?

How to get a 5.0L to spin to 7k RPM?

I think this is expensive territory but since I am putting 4.10 gears in, I would like to consider the idea of spinning the motor to 7k. What parts (metal and electronic) does it take to do this with a reasonable level of reliability? How much of the stock motor can you keep to do this...

    Cobra Pricing

The 32v Cobras rev to 7k of loving goodnes...stock. And as far as price goes, people will pay what the car is worth to them - regardless of blue book. If it's a nice car and you like the price, get it because there's a good chance someone else will.

    BRAKES UPGRADE????

My point exactly. Therefore, you should be able to install the 10th anniv. calipers on the smaller GT rotor with not further modification to bracket, axles, rotor etc, correct?

    10th Anniversary Cobra junk on a '94-95?

So what do y'all think about that eh? Calipers, wheels, seats, whatever. I've heard "...but it's not a 10th anniversary" stuff. What the heck? Busting on 10th anniv. wheels?

    BRAKES UPGRADE????

You do have to pull the xles out - I od'nt see how you can get acess to the bolts otherwise. On the other hand, can't you just use the Cobra calipers on the rear of a GT with the smaller rorotrs? Isn't the caliper and pad the same?

    BRAKES UPGRADE????

If you want red calipers, you can buy the 10th Anniversary Cobra set, it's about the same price as the standard Cobra calipers and the powder coat is nicer than any paint job. I changed out my calipers just using the Haynes manual. If I can do it, anyone can.

2.95 gearset going to make that much of a difference??

I have a 2.94 1st with 3.55 rear gears and it's a dog off the line. It's almost as bad as when I had a 2.73 with the stock tranny in my Fox.

Noticeable Difference between 3.55s and 3.73s?

No stock 94-95 Mustang came with a 2.95 1st. They are all 3.35 1st gears. The 2.95 was only available as an aftermarket transmission. Longer input shaft, yes, 2.95 1st, no. A 3.35 1st will accelerate quicker than a 3.27 or 2.95 will with the same rear gear. If you are going with a taller...

    cobra brake pads

The nice thing about the OEM pads is that they cover the rivet on the back of the outside pad. The Hawks show the ugly rivet. :notnice:

    '99 Calipers

Re: The '99 Calipers. Get the new calipers only if yours are shot. They are the same calipers as what you have right now. Edit: Also, the MC and booster don't need to be touched for the new calipers.

Who here traps at over 106mph?

Paul, were these times with the 4.10 gears or were you running a taller gear then? I am asking because I am about to swap out my 3.55's for a 4.10's. Thanks, Gabe
