Worked Performer RPM heads and intake overkill for stock cam/block?

Good answer; I think some of the benefits would be the wieght savings by going to aluminum, a small increase in valve size, and the ability to go to a bigger cam now, as these heads I don't believe are milled, and the P's are. Also, the ability to change plugs w/o removing the header would be...

Worked Performer RPM heads and intake overkill for stock cam/block?

I believe the heads have 1.90 valves. They guy is calling the engine builer who did the work to find out the specs. He is pretty sure they are 1.90 though. Edelbrock does reccomend new pushrods, and the only reason i didn't do rockers witht the GT40P's is because they were shaved 0.030" and I...

Worked Performer RPM heads and intake overkill for stock cam/block?

Hey guys; haven't posted in awhile, but back w/ a question: A friend of mine is selling Edelbrock Performer RPM heads w/ a "Stage 3" Cobra intake, both ported and polished. I don't yet have enough info for cfm specs or the degree of work done, but would bolting these on my stock cammed, stock...

    AODE:which parts are failing here?

On #2, there is absolutely no "flooring" involved. Just enough pressure to raise the RPM's 100-150. We're talking less than 10% throttle...

    AODE:which parts are failing here?

Hey gus, I DID do a search but didn't find al the answers... First off, when I swapped in a new rad., the tranny cooler fittings were stripped and leaked tranny fluid, so once I found out (trans slipped on the way home one night BIG TIME, I just had to have my fiance (her car), check it and...

Any repair for broken nipple on the radiator to te reservoir?

While fixing/swapping rad.'s, the nipple on the rad tank broke off, then someone epoxied it back on, then it broke off again, then i tried to epoxy it, but broke again., is there a more permanant fix, ile drill and tapping and using a trheaded nipple (metal) instead? Any ideas so I don't have...

Fianl verdict: Mercon V or II/III for AODE?

I don't think I'm going to risk the flush; I've heard too many opinions advising to the contrary. I figure I'll just top off what's leaked out from the bad rad.

Fianl verdict: Mercon V or II/III for AODE?

I have to swap the rad., as a bad tranny cooler line connection has been leaking tranny fluid pretty bad (as well as antifreeze!!). When I top off the AODE finally, should I be using Mercon V or the II or III I heard a few people mention? (aka, what will be best to avoid the "new tranny...

    What else do i need?

I would get new antifreeze, some thread sealant, new intake bolts if you don't have them already, RTV, razor blades, some lengths of vac hose for any old/brittle hoses that might be worn or cracked, might as well check the PCV screen, grommet and filter while you're there, MEK or similar to...

stalling at stop sign or light

Kick 'im in the nuts! Works every time :D Seriously, though, you need to pull codes (as in the other thread). Also, it sounds like it "might" be the TFI, except for the "not clicking" thing. Definitely pull up Jrichker's checklist... One thing you can do if you re-check all the wires: Jack it...

    What about an "acetone" smell??

well, the McLaren top is manual; no hydraulic fluid. I don't think washer fluid smells like that, and it's not a tranny smell, or at least doens't smell like fresh fluid. My car is a weirdo...
