    With 8 coats of clear, I daresay you've never sanded through them! I've learned the hard way that it's really easy to take too much paint off when sanding & polishing. And thanks for the excellent tip - I would not have thought to tape the hard edges to keep from sanding across them.

    I definitely agree with you, this was a major PITA. I would hate to do this for a living, it's so much work to get it just right. But for my car, I'll take the time I need to make it perfect.
