Which rear end girdles will work/clear MM Panhard Bar?

This same question came up a couple of weeks ago, I have been interested in this for the same reason. I spoke to MM and they said that a cover with recessed bearing loading bolts should fit, but said there might be a problem with contact during bump travel as the suspendion shifts becuase of...

    installing cobra rear brakes

To those of you who have installed a rear cobra disc brake set up on a 99-04GT: (this is for a 2003 GT if that makes a difference) I am upgrading my rearend components this winter, and I ran across this article on modulardepot: http://www.modulardepot.com/?show=articlesdet&aid=54 Which was...

    Long Tubes

I had my '03 inspected in north jersey last month and they had a mirror on a pole counting my cats. They also plugged into in the ODB-II port. In another 2 years they will do both of the above plus do a sniffer in the tail pipes. My question is if you did install LT's with and aftermarket mid...

    diff cover

Does anyone know of a differential cover for the 8.8 that has recessed bolts for preloading the bearings (bolts don't stick out beyond the ridge on the cover)? I have a MM PHB and the diff. covers with exposed/raised bearing loading bolts may hit the PHB crossbrace during bump travel.

    glass packs

I put straight pipes turned out to the side on mine with the stock midpipe and headers. Just went to a muffler shop and had them bend me two pipes to a right angle for $20, then I welded tips and the connectors on them. At idle it sounds like real muscle car very aggressive rumble. When you...

panhard bar and FRPP diff girdle

Just spoke to MM about this not 2 day ago. They said: If the 2 bolts for preloading the bearings are recessed into the diff. cover it will clear the PHB cross brace. If they are not recessed they could stick out too far and during bump travel could hit the brace. Correct if I'm wrong but...

    Maximum motorsports rear grip package...

I installed both, MM LCA and PHB in less than 8 hrs (this includes screwing around and gettin something to eat). Its not outlined in the instructions, but I and 2 other guys I know who have installed them had to remove the rear shocks and pull apart part of the trunk liner. Had to do this to...

Converting stock 'scoop' to functional ram air

KarKraft.com sold a kit for this a couple of years back. It didn't look like it was worth it....contact them and and ask for a set of directions or a schematic for repair purposes and see if you can duplicate their set-up.

    rearend problem

Rocketman, Thanks. Thats exactly the response I wanted to here. So I will leave the the stock axels in place along with the differential guts, but drain the fluid. Tig-weld each side a small section at a time to avoid excessive heat build up. Then when fully welded I will put in my new...

    rearend problem

Rocketman, Were your tubes welded in or out of the car? How did you keep the axels from warping while welding? I fear that if I get my tubes tigged while still in the car the tubes may shift out of straight, I also don't want to have to take apart my whole rear suspension to remove the rear...

    rearend problem

welding axel tubes If the rear tubes are to be tigged in the car...does a rod or something need to be stuffed through the axel housing to keep it from warping? Or can can I just leave in the stock axels and diff while welding and intall the new axels and diff after...would that be good enough...

    rearend problem

Can axel tubes be welded up while the rear housing/tubes are still in the car? Or does it have to be done on a jig out of the car? I know they have to be tigged and I have hear a story hear and there of the tubes warping from the welding heat.

Took of my mufflers, should i have done it?

I have been running a side exit exhaust with no mufflers on an '03 for almost three years now...sounds brutal. Way louder than my buddy's BBK longtube/O-R H-pipe/2 chambered flows combo. It can get really annoying on long rides though, drones badly at 2000rpms. When you punch it sounds sick...

    building a budget rear

Correct me if I'm wrong...but late model (not sure what years) explorers had a 31 spline tracklok 8.8 with 3.73 gearing, I'm pretty sure the V8's did but I am not sure about the V6's. So this should be a direct replacement upgrade for a mustang when combined with 31 spline axles. If this is...

Car dies when cold engine comes to a stop

Would this be the same thing that causes the car to stumble on start up? Every once in a while the car will stumble and stall when starting up. the car has 25,000 on it and is an '03, have already changed the fuel filter.

    Emssions testing question

NY inspection correct me if i'm wrong but the southern NY counties (eg. Westchester and Putnam as well as NYC) and jersey do dyno sniffers in the tail pipe don't they? So even if you correct the computer code you'll still fail based on tail pipe emissions won't you? I've been gettin...

    Spintech side exhaust

Kenny brown also makes sub frame connectors that will clear a side exhaust, ask for the ones desinged for the 2000 cobra R. I don't believe they're listed on the web site though. I have them as part of my matrix system. I built my own side exhaust, straight pipe with no muffler (real loud)...
