    Can anyone tell me an approx. ammount of time it should take for a mechanic to replace the water pump on a 1987 5.0L? Also, what is involved? Flushing coolant, removing fan belt and pulleys, removing hoses then removing the water pump? Thanks.

    I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter at all. I've installed similar ones before and they've made no difference either way.

    BBK shorty header install...

    Try to get a swivel head for your sockets, will make tightening those end bolts in much, much easier. Also, when removing the old hearders from the collectors to your exhaust, use a grinder or plasma cutter, much easier then trying to cut it by hand with a hacksaw which is what I tried before...

    So I'm standing behind my car today.....

    I had the same problem, a ticking/rattling noise that intensified during acceleration. Turned out my header gasket was basically gone, replaced it, and the noise went away. I would guess that is where the problem is.

    Well, I checked the cats today, they're fine. Checked to make sure my headers were snug with the h-pipe, they were. But, I noticed that there was exhaust escaping from the back of the passenger side valve covers, quite a bit. Took off the valve cover and the gasket was fine, tightened it back...
