Typhoon intake too much for GT40 heads?

its a good fit. HOWEVER, the typhoon is basiclly the rpm intake, which is setup for 2000-6500 rpms. so that being said, you will great power in the 2k range, but under that, you will most likely lose a bit. if he got aluminum heads for $250, i would jump all over them. i think he means...

    3.73 made me slower?

what did you change to get that better time? as for the next mod... it really depends how indepth you want it to be. easy mod would be something like an RPM intake and a 70mm t-body. any aftermarket set of heads will do nicely on that.

    dart VS boss

the dart is VERY proven and you can make some decent displacements out of it. if you do a search on it, there will be all the info you need.

    What size MAF?

the 94-newer mafs arent the same, they have a different wiring setup and the voltages are different. yes, its common to have a larger MAF than t-body. that ebay deal isnt a bad one.

    What size MAF?

see if you can find an 80mm version by PMAS or pro-m, depends when it was made, that is the one that flows the best. other choice would be the LMAF 90mm or the 75mm bullett.

    3.73 made me slower?

there is no "right" answer here. if you do a search on people who did stock gears to 3.73s or 4.10s, there would be hundreds with great results and a bunch with slower results. alot of it isnt just doing gears and flooring it off the line, a lot of it depends on the driver and his/her abilites...

    3.73 made me slower?

http://www.mustang50magazine.com/featuredvehicles/39218_nmra_pure_street_racer_tom_payn/index.html that is just one choice, and yes, its not a "street" car, but this thread is based on "made me slower" on track times.

    3.73 made me slower?

yeah, thats not the truth! what gear ratio are the factory stock cars running??? why do you think that most people do the 3.73 to start or even 4.10s.

where are you guys mounting your ignition boxes?

dr side inside fenderwell. MSD told me that if you mount them in the engine bay, they can get heat soaked and kill the box... it happened to me!

    86 302 questions

my advice is to keep shopping. the 86 pistons suck, so you will have to notch them first, and that will either set you back a bunch to either have someone do it or for the tool/your time. i wouldnt really offer more than $100 if your gonna do it at all.

    whats wrong with my car?

yep. when i got my 80MM, it would run fantastic on part throttle, but when i stepped on it, it would stutter like crap. I found out that MAF needed to be rebuilt, after that, it ran fantastic!!!!

    Building 8.8 Rear End

go wtih a good aftermarket diff cover/girlde, like the FMS, Downs Ford, MAC, etc etc... then you should do c-clip elims or 9" ends for a stronger rear.

    tuned my car

thats about right. i think that the cam you have is holding you back a bit though. if you would have went wtih something more agressive, it would have made 300+. youi should see mid-low 13s with sticky tires all day.

    Injectors/mass air with S-trim

the 80mm flows better than the 90mm LMAF, so get that one. yes, dont go any smaller than the 42s, esp. since you have ported heads. the 30s will work, but as thedcondutor said, they are gonna be too small probably above like 4k RPMs.
