    Starter Motor?

I didn't think it was possible, but the 3rd bolt is finally off! Here's how I did it... Starter Motor Removal: Ratchet + 8" ext + 4" ext + 4" ext + Universal Joint but no tape on it Fed this part from the front of the engine above the k-member and between the motor mount and engine. It went...

    Starter Motor?

Yes I saw your post, I think I am just having bad (ie. dumb) luck trying to get at it. Going to give it another go tonight. Maybe I just need a Bud Light or 2 to keep me motivated Both looked good, and the voltage across the 2 was just shy of 12v which seems right. I took the cables off the...

    Starter Motor?

Took the battery in, checks out fine. I'm convinced it's the starter, so I began to take it off.... I see what everyone means about the 3rd bolt. I've been at it for 3 hours now and still no go. Where exactly is the 3rd bolt located? If I'm at the front of the car look towards the back...

    Starter Motor?

Yes and same problem - just a single click then nothing (sorry, should have mentioned that i tried jumping it). Also, the battery terminals, posts, etc. are very clean and no corrison (summer car only, maybe driven 3,000Km / Yr) 12.07v. I thought it only jumps up past 12v after it starts (?)...

    1998 4.6 question

Exactly. If i was putting in a motor into a 96-98, at minimum it would be a 99+ motor

i was amazed at the difference the bumpsteer kit made on my car - i should have done it years ago. highly recommended if your car is lowered and with larger tires.

    big upgrades

Grammar lessons that include use of punctuation? Kidding. KB and forged internals would be awesome. Or even save the money for another nice ride. 10K is a lot of coin.

O2 sensor dillema, for 2 years

I disagree (rather, I don't totally agree.. :)) The guy who tuned my car at Steeda is top 10 in North America, and no amount of tweaking helped. Basically my car was running in constant open loop and would stall at lights. The voltage would not vary between 0v and 1v. Perhaps it's not...

Installing Temp. Gauge on 96 GT

Shouldn't cause an issue, but you can t-junction it with the existing one to be safe. Be VERY careful though when tightening it as too much PSI will result in a cracked intake (unless you have the PI intake already installed).

O2 sensor dillema, for 2 years

Heat can be an issue for the O2's to reach the proper operating temperature, but back-pressure can also cause an issue. On my car, with my long-tubes & prochamber, I couldn't get any voltage variation from the front O2's. After switching to a catted h-pipe, my O2's started to respond...

    LT header question

Speaking from experience, I would definitely recommend headers that are coated in order to prevent heat loss. This 'can' cause issues with tuning later on down the road. In my case, the loss of back pressure from running an offroad pipe combined with uncoated headers caused the O2 sensors to not...

    beautiful

+1 - I'm not a fan of it, and would rather have half the cars on SN even if some are slower.

How well do 96-98 4.6s react to nitrous?

Especially because the compression will increase = benefit to nitrous

    noob open to sugestions

400HP at the crank naturally aspirated is a lofty goal, but good on you for setting your sights high. Check out my sig for 300 rwhp (~375 HP assuming 20% loss to rear) NA 97 GT. If I was to do it all again, I would probably have just dropped in a different motor altogether vs. the head and cam...

I Got a Big tranny Problem

I'm no transmission expert, but if you're on a budget + can do the work yourself + it's a shift fork, they're pretty cheap to replace from what I've heard. Good luck

Another mod. Today (added a couple horses)

A little fast for my liking, but still very cool. Mine are about half the speed too, and were about $60 on ebay about 6 years ago..
