    Got Some Detonation Going On.

    Mt '01 pings like a mofo too. Very sensitive to temperature - run it to work on a cold morning and it's a champ, run it home the same afternoon in 90 degrees plus and it's marbles city. I'm going to try going one gap colder plugs next and swap out my MAC hot air intake for a JLT. We'll see.

    not sure where the ad was posted but I got a reply like that on an autotrader ad. I forwarded it to customer support and they deleted it immediately no questions asked. Big SCAM. Those f'ers should be hung by their balls. But there's a sucker born every minute so I'm sure some people fall for it.

    I think 16.9 is high for a '99 with that many miles. I think you could find a low mileage '01 within your 18K budget.

    I think it'll be difficult to pursue a lawsuit against FMC on a modified car. That thing was generating significantly more hp&tq than the factory intended. Nevertheless, glad nobody was hurt.

    I think the 265/35 and 295/35 is a good choice and I haven't heard of anyone having IRS clearance problems with it. FYI: that's also the stock set-up Saleens use and it looks pretty damn good.

    well that's somewhat comforting - mine's only got 23K miles on it and I don't really beat on her. hopefully the 32V has a long life ahead of it. for the hell of it, maybe I'll mention it at my next service and see what they say. thanks!

    uh, thanks....however, I don't see my issue addressed so that doesn't really do much for me. Anyone with the pinging issue ever get it resolved? Do you think I have anything to worry about with light pinging or should I just accept it as a fault of certain '01s?

    I think, if anything, it would just narrow your target market. I can't imagine there are a lot of people that would specifically look for a cage equipped car. Many might shy away from the car because it had been raced. So bottom line, it probably wouldn't really hurt or help the selling...

    bbs rk's are 19lbs for the front 18 x 8.5s and 20lbs for the rear 18 x 10s. they look pretty sweet too.
