Brand new 347 has rear main leak!!

The intake leaking is a possibility. Rub your hand back there and check for oil. If there isn't any, I feel relatively certain that it is your flywheel to crank bolts. Just in case you don't know (I didn't), the bolt holes on the back of the crank go straight through into the motor. Just a...

Brand new 347 has rear main leak!!

I do not think it is your rear main seal at all. It's probably the bolt's that connect the flywheel to the crank. You have to put sealant on the bolts or they are GUARANTEED to leak oil on the back just like a rear main seal leak. Don't know if you sealed them with RTV or not, but reading...

Which trans fluid to use in my 5-speed?

I bought a Super HD T-5 from Summit last summer which says Tremec on the body of it, and there was a tag on it that said "this transmission must be filled with ATF". I filled it with ATF synthetic Castrol. It seems to be ok, and shifts good though a little noisy at times. The reason I'm...

    spitting noise under load

I fixed the spitting/tapping/flapping etc... sound coming from under the hood on acceleration. It was in fact the drivers side header gasket. I was using metal type gaskets, and swapped it out for a paper type that I think came with the BBK headers, and poof, no more sound. 7up, which type of...

    spitting noise under load

I just posted a new thread that is pretty much word for word what you are dealing with yourself. I am hearing the exact same noise, and have started to think that it's the header gasket on the drivers side, but after you have replaced yours with no success I'm not too sure. I'm going to...

    Header gasket question

What kind of header gaskets are you guys using? My wife and I went for a ride this morning, and we heard a sound like something flapping in the air i.e. an exhaust leak. I tightened the H-pipe bolts, and the header which bolts which on the drivers side were very loose. I thought that would do...

If you're thinking about going black, don't think - do it.

Another vote for the black interior. I'll get my wife to post some pics of mine also.

Can you change the PCV system?

Jason, I read your link that was posted, and I think I'm going to try adding another pcv valve to my drivers side valve cover. Have you done this with good success? Will I need a baffle under the valve in the valve cover? I'm going to try this soon, and will post the results. Joe

Back four intake runners wet. Need advice.

Nope, I don't have a baffle on the valve cover, and I agree that it's because the pcv runs to the back of the upper intake. 98blkgt, my gasket looks exactly the same. You would think there would be some way to put a "T" fitting in the PCV hose, and then run a hose to one of the valve covers to...

Back four intake runners wet. Need advice.

Thanks guys. I'm thinking I'll try the separater. I wonder if a breathable oil filler cap would help reduce the pressure in the crankcase (if that's what's causing the oil to go past the pcv valve). Any thoughts on that guys? Thanks again...

Back four intake runners wet. Need advice.

Guys I've had this problem for a while. When I had my intake off a month ago I noticed the back four lower intake runners were wet, yet the front four were dry. I was cleaning the engine yesterday, and noticed that the back half of the phenolic spacer was wet, and the front half was dry (back...

Question about Saleen wing on 92 convertible.

Thanks for responses guy's. I'll get a new trunk lid without the luggage rack, and try the wing. I got to say, that with it just sitting on there it looks like it's going to hit the side of the car when i lower the trunk down. I've got to get a new trunk lid anyway for whatever wing i use, so...

Question about Saleen wing on 92 convertible.

When I bought my car the wing wasn't on the car. A year later I'm thinking of putting it on. I have to get a new trunk lid, because it has the luggage rack on it right now. When I sat it on the trunk and positioned it the best I could the back corners of the mounting surface sticks out past...

    DCC Controler Question

I ran my ignition on wire to the wire on the wiper motor that is on only with ignition on. My fan runs for about 30 seconds (depending on the temperature) when I shut the car down. Been about a month, so far so good. I agree, run the positive lead right to the positive battery post, and the...

    best way to adjust rockers?

I agree with ShortThrow. That's exactly how I did mine, you do need that extra 1/2 turn with the wrench, then lock it down.

Idle wont go below 1000rpm. Doesn't surge.

Well..... I feel a little silly. I realized a few things today. I have an SCT chip in my car which I remembered, what I didn't remember was that I have it set on a non-adaptive tune. When I had the chip installed and dyno tuned he put 4 different tunes on it, and one was a custom non adaptive...

Idle wont go below 1000rpm. Doesn't surge.

Thanks Hissin50, I'll try the A/C thing too. In my search on here I've seen a lot of people clean their IAC with carb cleaner and the like. Years ago I was told not to clean it, because it has a thin layer of grease on the inside that aids in it's operation. Does that sound right? In my...
