    351c 2bbl cam/hydraulic lifters problem/ choice

Just throwing this out there, description of sound is tough over the internet, the firecracker sound as you call it, if it's a crisp bang, it could be the exhaust manifold gasket on that cylinder and it would go away if you pulled that plug wire. Just trying to go back to basics here, I hate it...

    1968 mustang turn signals

There are seperate flashers for 4-ways and directionals, buy a HD flasher to replace the one you have IF all the bulbs are good. If one side doesn't flash, it's possible you have a bad ground at one of the lights or a bad bulb.

speedway early mustang cross member with 351W

Was the engine in that car before you swapped the cross member, or is it new? Do you still have the stock pan and pickup tube to try? It's possible that pan does not fit that car.

    Brake Light/turn signal issues

IF you are losing both brake and park light then it is more than likely a bad ground.

    Turn signal

Get a test light if you don't already have one. Out the clip to ground, makes sure it's a good clean ground, pull the bulb sockets out of both tail lights, have someone step on the brake, with your ground connected make sure the right brake light is on, remove the bulb and probe the terminal, it...

    Turn signal

If you have turn and no brake the problem is in the signal switch. The brake switch operates both brake lights, if one works the switch is good. The signal switch disrupts the brake function on turn so it can flash that side. from there it uses all the same wiring, so it has to be a signal...

    Lets talk steering

you can test the box by watching the movement of the pitman arm as someone moves the freeplay in the steering wheel left to right. there should be very little wheel movement, approx 1" or less. also while the car is on the ground look at each individual tie rod end and idler arms as he plays...

1965 289 V8 Idles great sputters and stalls on the road after minute restarts before stalling

Bypass the electric pump, it may be restricting the flow and try that. Pull the line off the carb and see if it pumps fuel out the size of the line when you crank it. You can also pull the line off the input of the mechanical pump and see if it siphons freely, may have a clog.

found a mustang converible 1972 that I want to buy(restoration) need help

There is no chassis to swap, it is a unibody car. If the second car is solid, it would be easier, ( but still very involved), to swap out the convertible parts. Still a lot of cutting and welding, and reinforcing the coupe chassis. If you have never restored a vehicle before I suggest you find...

Lower radiator mystery hose on 66 coupe

need more specifics. "I reattached hose and filled coolant and it blew the hose off again. ", is not a good description of your problem. Did you warm up the car with the cap off? Did it get hot? Did it boil water? Did you check that the hose connection is round and in good shape? did you install...

I'd sell the engine you have and start over fresh. Sounds like a setup that would be easy to sell.

Unoffical Poppy Red/Calypso Coral Mustang Club thread

Just for cross reference, my '65 F-100 Custom Cab had a Poppy Red Dash, truck was Wimbledon White. The dash is the only metal part that survived New England Cancer, I cut it out and still have it in my loft. And Poppy Red is on the short list for the paint on my '66 F-100 project.

Funny how age changes your FUN FACTOR. I'm starting my '66 F-100 resto now,I took it off the road about 5 years ago when the rot got so bad I couldn't open the drivers door anymore. It is a 390 4spd 4x4 now and I am seriously thinking about using a 300 I have for the new build. Looking at the...

    First generation drivers

No news to me, I was driving these things when they were still everywhere. I even had a '60 4dr falcon with a 144 and a 3 on the tree. Although that one was a bit wanting for a 4th gear. The 170's and 200's had more than enough power and got pretty decent mileage.

    66 steering box

Not sure you have your finger on the problem. If your alignment was correct, and you had no other loose parts in the front end, it wouldn't feel boaty, and it wouldn't wander on it's own, the only issue would be the free-play. If you really trust the shop you took it to, let him look at it...
