    Putting the 6x8's in an enclosure that's not made for them could either help or mess up their frequency response dramatically. Also, if you run the factory tweeters along with a 4-way set in the doors, you're going to have terrible imaging. The pioneers would benefit from a 50w or so 4-channel...

    I live about a mile or so west of 355, just off Hobson Rd, my friend, the one I see the Rousch at sometimes, lives in woodridge, too, just off Woodridge Dr. I don't really see any get-together's in naperville that often, either. Usually it's just the guys with the choppers.

    I think I've seen that Rousch, too. I've seen it in my friend's parking lot, but never got to see who owns it. I'm suprised you don't see them that often. I see a lot of Mach1's and '03 Cobras around Downers Grove and Naperville just about every day.

    If you go to flemworld.com, under the mach 460 part, there's a section on how to access the rear soundboard from the top. It's the same procedure as the non-mach cars, just the speakers are bolted from the top. You need to take off the rear headrest, and then the rear deck cover.

    The problem most ported enclosures run into is that people build them without understanding tuning frequencies, and end up tuning them way too high. If built right, like said above, they're usually louder and can play lower than sealed setups. Like Joker said, though, it depends on the driver...

    I got mine done, but I just used the 2001+ vinyl one as a template and had an interior shop make me a leather one to match the shifter boot they made. The new ones mount differently, so you can't just drop it in. I'll take pics of mine when I get home. Looks 10x better.

    laser2kgt: If you're going to get an aftermarket HU and amp for the speakers, I'd say save your money on the Mach, and get a nice component set. If you run the factory tweeters along with the aftermarket 6x8's, you might run into some cancellation issues. It's too bad you already bought it...

    The RMS value they listed is for the entire package, they're rated at 350RMS each, so you'll be overpowering them a little. They should be able to take it fine as long as you're not stupid with them, just gives you a little more headroom. Saleen is right, though, it's always best to overpower...

    MTX amplifiers... your opinion??

    I have an MTX amp, and I love mine. It's underrated by about 75%, and it's been rock solid for the last 4 years. I'm not sure about their new line, but they usually underrate their products. If you want another recommendation for a good amp, I'd say a JBL BP600.1 or a Hifonics Brutus 1000D...
