    disc conversion on 1968 mustang

Most mod choices made for our Mustangs have their pros and cons. I agree that the 65-67 KH type kit that you referenced is probably the best basic choice for most 67-73 applications, along with 8 cylinder 65-66, because it is a simple install and a sound system. That said, there are those users...

    disc conversion on 1968 mustang

This argument is suspiciously similar to the disinformation that Dan (chockostang) has been spreading for the last two year. I understand Dan's cynical motives (he sells a different type disc kit), but I don't understand yours. Are you somehow associated with Dan? -It is well known that the the...

    help identify these calipers

Where you buy the parts is not relevant, those are the same Chinese made calipers that most everyone else offers. They are good quality. I know since I worked with the foundry to developed the molds from which those calipers were cast and specified the construction. Argentina?

    help identify these calipers

There is no such thing as a "Shelby" caliper. Those are KH type calipers. One type was used on 65-66 Mustang and another type used on 67 Mustang. Both types were used on Shelbys Those are common parts now. There are several sources. That price is moderate. BTW, those calipers not made in...

This looks like the place to be!

Agreed. The 200 CID is a nice reliable engine with a bullet proof 7 main bottom end that gives good low end torque. My only complain about the 200 design is that the intake manifold is integral with the cylinder head (one piece). The heads tend to crack from the plenum and through the valve...

New Front Disks (stock replacement) for 69 mach 1

Dan, More self serving S___! Granada brakes are nearly identical to original 68-73 Mustang brakes. They use the larger axle stub as in 70-73 Mustang and like the Mustang system, use a single piston caliper. Both systems use a 11" rotor, the Granada one being 1 lb heavier. It doesn't help to...

SN95 caliper to Granada spindle bracket

Fitting a rotor is not that simple. The rotor needs to have disc offset to match the caliper and to maximize caliper placement parameters. In any case, I have the rotors in hand and the brackets are in production. I'm finalizing the caliper source this week. The kit will be available soon.

14" Wheels & the CSRP disc brake kit?

I have sold many of these kits and have had no feedback that original 14" wheels would not fit. The OP failed to mention that the car has 14" keystones.

    Soft Pedal Bad Performance

As suggested above, check the clearance between the pushrod, at the front of the booster, and the end of the master cylinder piston. It should be about 0.030" inches. If there is too much clearance, the pedal will have excessive travel. Have you talked to Dan at chockostang? I'd bet he'd give...

    Granada parts

Actually, very early in the 65 production run, Mustangs demand was so hot that the only way to get one was by factory order. My parents bought our 66in May of 65 and it was delivered in November. Many of the published options were in short suppy and were left off. The dash pad and carpet were...

    Mustang Drop Spindles

It is one of many projects I am working on. It has taken a back seat to development of the kit which places SN95 calipers on Granada spindles. I finally have the one piece bracket perfected. 10 sets are in transit now and I will be farming them out for trials before I have a production batch made.

Disc Brakes and 14" styled steel wheels

There is nothing wrong with the Granada swap for Mustang if you are willing to use 15" or larger wheels. The spindles are available with correct steering and suspension geometry for 65-66 or 67-73. The original KH/Ford system OE to 65-67 is usually a better choice for 65-67 5 lug cars since...

    Tie rod ends

The spindles are probably 67 or later. 65-66 uses a smaller diameter tie rod mount stud than the later types.

So someone decided to copy our idea for an E-brake handle

I sympathize with your situation. That said, there is no legal/ethical issue here, and there are definitely no proprietary issues (in regard to you, your competitor, or Ford). In order for a patent to issue, a product must be NOVEL (meaning new). The improvement in the new product must NOT be...

    Brakes locking

I believe this is the correct advise. The booster pushrod must not touch the master cylinder piston when the pedal is at rest. If it does, the brakes will be applied a small amount at all times. As the brakes and fluid temp goes up from the friction, the hydraulic pressure will increase and...

5 lug axles for a six cylinder?

I've considered making them. I think it would be a good product. There are a lot of 6 cylinder owners who are content to do only what is absolutely necessary to make the disc swap. My experience with customers is that, unlike many forum members, a majority do not particularly relish the...
