94 Cobra Progress Thread (formerly Help Me Decide Thread)

Agree with Dave. Unless you are very experienced with a rotary buffer do not use one. Way too easy to burn paint off of an edge. Get a good DA polisher and either foam or microfiber pads and Meguiars 205. It is pretty mild on the paint bit has just enough cut to remove light swirl marks. You can...

    Buying An Ed Curtis Cam

My experience with Ed was purely positive and 100% through email. Once you order with Ed, you will get top notch service and after sale care. He has helped me with several issues that had nothing to do with him for free. I once asked Ed about a warranty - his response was "I'm your warranty"...

    Fiberglass Repair Help

So I picked up a '93 Cobra style rear spoiler for my son's '86 GT. One of the threaded inserts for bolting it on is missing and another spins. What do I need to do to repair and replace them? Pic attached. @Davedacarpainter do you have any advice? I'm thinking either epoxy putty or...

    302 Rebuild Question?

If you really like the car, and want to know exactly what is going on with the engine, spend $30 and have the oil tested at Blackstone labs: https://www.blackstone-labs.com/free-test-kits.php They will be able to identify any problems in the engine based on what they find in the oil. You get a...

Lmr Rear Disc 4-lug For Fox

My '86 GT has the turbo coupe brakes installed...they seem to work fine. I didn't install them originally so I can't comment on the installation. Changing pads and rotors was easy enough once I figured out what to order from the auto parts store

    New Mustang Owner

retorque the intake following the proper torque sequence (google it) and I would definitely snug up the water pump, timing cover, and header bolts...header bolts especially like to work loose on a new motor

    New Mustang Owner

Ed Curtis of FlowTech Induction is in Rhode Island. I have a similar 347 to yours except with AFR 185 heads and a custom cam by Ed. On pump gas with only 26* of timing it put down 378 HP and 438 FT-LBS at the wheels...I've got another 30-50 HP in it if I run race fuel and bump up the timing...

What's A Good Electric Fan Controller?

I am using this controller on my '86 GT in Arizona - works like a champ, very nice features for controlling 2 fans or a single high/low fan. It has A/C input so it will run the fan(s) when A/C kicks on.

Awesome mod, I'm going to try this on my '86. My dad installed the $1500 EPS kit in his '65 mustang and it is fantastic. I'll be installing in my '68 Hardtop and '60 falcon wagon as well. Thanks for the info!!

    Hard Cranking

Update to the update: the problem returned about a month after moving the ground from the A/C bracket to the block. I replaced the stock starter with a new PMGR model on the '92 and newer stangs and that completely cured the problem. I think the improved ground enabled the starter to get...
