    1.6 RR's stock Valve covers

I used an oem type gasket and removed the baffle with my FRPP 1.6's. Works great without issues.

Best way to break in a clutch?

Just drive it normally for the first 500 miles or so. Failure to do so could affect its longevity. I know its hard to take it easy, but it will be worth it in the long run. I am in the same position after rebuilding my car.

Anyone with S/D running a not different cam

Crane and Crower make a few options for our SD cars. But you can make plenty of power on the stock cam and use the money else where. You can add a set of roller rockers for example. Here's a link: http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/116_0307_ford/

    Center Console Heating up!

I think its perfectly normal all things considered. I have driven my car many times on long trips up I-95 and recall the same thing. As long as its not so hot that it will combust, I wouldn't worry about. 5.0's produce a lot of heat, especially when driving on the highway.

Really need help picking U/L Control arms!

I have the MM lowers and FRPP uppers. A good set up in my opinion. The MM's are outstanding quality compared to the lower priced units.

Ride Quality - "Air Ride" vs Coil over

Check out ridetech.com. Air bag suspension would be my choice for ultimate handling and adjustability over struts/shocks if you have the cash for the system.

    Running rich, bad fuel injectors?

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered a FRPP 19lb set and new FPR. Now I'll just have to find and fix the vacuum leak(s).

    Exhaust opinion

Flowmasters have been flowing on my car since 94. A-1performance has the Dynomax Ultra Flo 17393 kit for 342.05 shipped. That's a good deal on the kit. The Ford Racing kit doesn't have LX style stainless steel tailpipes.

    Exhaust opinion

My OEM tailpipes fit closer to the quarter panels now that I changed to BBK shorties and X pipe. I am thinking of swapping up to larger 2.5 tailpipes and getting some new mufflers. Hopefully that will lower them back to normal Ford Racing has a catback system available now, anyone using it...

    Running rich, bad fuel injectors?

    Running rich, bad fuel injectors?

Yep its a SD car. I'll need luck, thanks. What is the normal running vacuum?

    Running rich, bad fuel injectors?

The injectors while possibly reliable, are definitely well proven with 197,000 trouble free miles. Thats alot of years and miles. Seems to dumping too much fuel. Motorcraft plugs.

    Running rich, bad fuel injectors?

I recently started my rebuilt engine and have it just about dialed in. Found a few vacuum leaks and that the plugs were not gapped right. Fixed those, but I still am getting a black sooty residue out of the exhaust and the brand new plugs were covered with soot. My builder cleaned the fuel...

    Finally fired it up

Today I got the engine started after the rebuild project. Have to dial in the timing now, but overall it sounds badass. Can't wait to drive it. The tailpipes are sitting too high with the BBK X pipe. Going to have to play with the hangers or have something custom made. Still have to get...

    Need A Picture

Thanks. I need to see how this y-shaped metal bracket with a sensor/module attaches. I am stumped. I have everything else in place. Once done, I can get back to wrapping up the engine and firing it up for the first time since it was rebuilt.

    Need A Picture

I am reinstalling my dash after changing the heater core. I need a picture of the driver's side under side to see how everything was laid out. Especially the bracket for the steering column.

    Should I rebuild bottom end??

I got 197,240 miles on my stock 5.0 before the bearings gave out. It wasn't too bad, but you could see signs of wear when it was disassembled prior to rebuilding it. Are you burining oil and losing compression? If not, just put your new parts on and enjoy it until you can afford having it...

spec stage 1 or king cobra clutch

I'd go with the King Cobra or opt for something else. Spec's just aren't what the used to be I suppose. I have a Stage 2 Spec in my 90 Probe GT and it only has about 25,000 on it and it slips under boost. I know a few people that have had similar problems when installing a Spec in a Mazdaspeed...

    What's the best motor oil

You can't go wrong with Castrol, Valvoline, or Motorcraft oil. I always used a Ford Oil filter and dyno oil in either 10W30, 10W40, and 20W50 in my car and the engine ran strong for 197,298 miles before I rebuilt it. I am going to break it in with 10W30 Valvoline and FL-1A oil filter...
