    Sometimes. But honestly you would be surprised how often cops do sit with their units on. Nothing is going to protect you against instant on unless they hit someone in front of you and you get warning off the reflected signal. I guess it depends where you live and what you drive for roads...

    I attached mine between the spot on the block where the battery grounds out and one of the front sway bar bolts. I haven't had any problems with it, so hopefully this is an acceptible placement.

    +1 I got a white one pretty cheap and I love it. Its always nice and cool and fits my hand very nicely. The weight of the knob is what I like the most. Feels nice and solid when you shift.
