Just a quick ? on the topic.. I'm at ~33k miles and after reading this I'm thinking I should change my fluids and install a cooler.
Which tranny cooler are you guys using, was it a full kit (clamps, right size fittings, etc.), and how long did it take you to install?
Well the box came today and it was definately a pain in the ass to get into the trunk.. But after a few minutes of pondering and working the various angles I got it in no problem.. Just enough room under the rear deck to give those speakers some space.
Box was from ikesound...
Look up your units model number on the company website to download the manual.. Most sites keep a reference of pdf's. If the web doesn't have it call them up and ask a tech which wire it is. Usually they'll be nice and give you 5 min on the phone to help you out.
I tried to fit a full range rf box into my '00 gt trunk with no luck.. it was 2 12"s with 2 mids and 2 highs..
Not only did it not fit, there was literally no chance in hell it was going to fit.. I just wanted to hooch the box from my other car for a couple weeks to mess around with it but...
If you want one of those just go to radio shack and put some 12v computer fan in your intake lol. That's all that POS looks like to me. But at least the rip off artists are trying to be more creative. :)
I picked up one of those portable steamers for 100$. That and a bottle of simple green makes for a really clean engine bay.. The steamer works great on the rims too. The only drawback is that the tank on it is not that large so I work in sections to give it time to build pressure back up...
Well it's time to go on the first half of my trip for this morning / afternoon.. I'll bring my camera in case I blow the car up by accident :) Should have pics of the chip / wires / switch / etc. mid-day whenever I return, maybe that'll help crack the case.
I apologize in advance for the long post, just trying to get all the info in up front.
Well I have been going through the car itemizing what the previous owner has done to it. I pulled the kickpanel to get to the computer and found a module plugged into it. It appears to be made of like...
I'm getting mine done in 2 weeks at the same place I got my wifes car tinted.. 200$ for the job and I must say they did one hell of a quality job on her car. This is in NY though so prices always seem to be a drop higher here than most places.
Either way for 200$ I'd rather have a pro do...
i use ipod in my stang with that iTrip device that plugs on top but its a piece of crap. i have a fm modulator here that should take no more than an hour to install with a minijack plug flush somewhere on the dash.
the wireless ones suck.. shorter antenea helped some but not enough.. it's...
I've got an X pipe with the stock mufflers and it's definately a louder than stock sound. I bought the car this way so I saw the X pipe up on the lift but never took the time to photo it and figure out the brand/model/etc..
Especially in the 3k - 3.5k highway cruising range.. It just has...
Nasa if you still have that article scanned I'd love to give it a read too. Once the weather finally warms up here, brake pads are going to be the first job to get done!

Thanks!
it depends where i am.. when i'm dead smack in new york city itrip is a pain in the ass to get a clear signal.. but other than that i've never really had any issues with it..
you just have to spend the time to find what stations are the sweet spots for your area..
iPod + iTrip = more mp3s than i could listen to driving from new york to florida on vacation..
it's a bit pricey but all of the good ones are in the 300-400$ range.. the iTrip (from griffin technologies) was another 40$ i think..
just tune in a dead radio station and it plays through it...
