    Exh manifolds stud removal

If the manifolds are off, weld a 3/8 flat washer on the broken stud with a mig welder. ( even if it's below the surface) Then, with a torch heat the manifold cherry red around the stud. Clamp Vise grips on the washer. gently work the grips back and fourth until you feel a slack (or movement). If...

    Unique Performance in the news

I've met these folks, I didn't care for them either. I'm not defending them in any way. Nor am I defending anyone who cheats customers. But on the otherhand, I'm not blowing off calling them Hacks & criminals either. Doing so would also be calling Shelby the same. I hold him in higher regards...

    Unique Performance in the news

I believe we are both basically on the same page. Only difference is I don't call Unique Motors "Rip off artist". They don't have to try to "Authenticate" their cars because Carrol Shelby says they're Authentic. Not me, Not you, Not anyone for that matter. Carrol Shelby makes that call. He...

    Unique Performance in the news

Nope, I can't say that for Unique Motors. Neither can you. But Carrol Shelby thought he could. I'm pretty sure his team researched it better then you or I can. As for the cars, I would guess most of them spent their time hauling regular folks around to the life most of us spend. That is until...

    Unique Performance in the news

In that case, I guess the man's name doesn't mean much. I've always thought the original cars were highly over rated in todays standards. They are what they are. Toys. that's all. very expensive toys. In 1967, if you had the money, you could walk in to a Ford dealership and pay twice as much for...

    Unique Performance in the news

Every car they built under Shelby's endorsment was a "TRUE SHELBY". He endorsed it, They built it. under his endorsement. pretty simple. Did it start it's life as a 67 GT500? of course not. Most were junked out "T" codes. Was it a 6 Cyl. when they got it done? Nope, It was a "SHELBY RECREATION"...

The "Mustang II" IFS Real Info & Debate Thread

I was talking about the filler panels. Normally we cut thru the upper corner just above the shock mount and weld that to the new filler panel. With this new filler panel ,with the bend, the entire shock tower panel is removed and a cleaner bent panel welded in place of it. I'll try to post some...

The "Mustang II" IFS Real Info & Debate Thread

Reen, have you mocked up your tire/Wheel on that set up? If so, did you have any clearance problems? Looks kinda tight up front. Also we've been having our inner panels cut locally with an extra square tab on top & bent down in order to remove all of the original shock tower. It also enables us...

    Hydroboost

Hydroboost, does work with just a little fabrication. locating pin hole must be drilled, and the inside of the firewall area needs to be reinforced. You need to either convert the fittings to "AN" fittings or use the original ends and build hoses from there. clearance with the hood hinges is...

    1967 GT500E Vert W/IRS MII Frt

I agree, on the exhaust. I was under a deadline, which I was behind on 60 days. Customer wanted it to be as Identical as Unique motor's vert as I could make it. He wanted black & silver, I already had the IRS & IFS mocked up for a Cobra build. Next vert won't have false exhaust vents. They will...

Also, I just got back from NJ. New owner test drove the car like he stole it. I was very impressed myself with the handling(from the passenger seat). He loves the car and was very impressed with the way it drove & how tight it felt.

Heidt's IFS If you decide to install one one these. You only need to know how to mig weld & measure. The install was much easier then installing a Rear quarter panel or floor pans. To answer question, You don't need a Rotessie. Jack stands will do. If you have a 1968 you won't have to change...
