    Need Mellow, Least Drone Mufflers

Corsas have no drone. Or try dynamat on the steel in the footwells. (try that first as it is super cheap compared to a corsa)

    mild turbo to overcome altitude

Interesting idea, thanks for the input. I guess I had not considered nitrous, because I saw it as a quick way to blow-up your engine. If its safe though, yeah, makes a lot of sense. I'll look into it...

    mild turbo to overcome altitude

thanks for the info everyone. I figured this would be an interesting topic to put out to the group. I have not been able to find much info on the subject of power and altitude. Here are the things I know: Stock Mustang GTs pull 15s flat at the local track (Bandimere). That is compared to...

    mild turbo to overcome altitude

here is my situation: I bought the Mustang GT V8 because I wanted a V8 power and sound. Fun times. I did a ton of research, and the Mustang GT is the car for me. I bought it, then took it up to my local track and pulled a 14.8. That is because my local track is at 5800ft. I did not know...

time to replace the stock shocks

suspension is a tricky beast. I went with a Steeda Dampers, Steeda Springs, and Steeda rear sway bar. The dampers are much stiffer than stock. If you value a "smooth" ride, you probably dont want aftermarket dampers. However, I put smooth in quotes, because there are times when the stiffer...

    Brake Shudder

okay, I dont want to be an ass, but this got me curious and I did more research... Here is an article that better explains what I was talking about. StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades Not that it really matters. After reading the article, it sounds like semantics. Rotors do not...

time to replace the stock shocks

I can sell you my stock shocks for $20 plus shipping. I took them off when I installed my aftermarket Steeda suspension, and they are just sitting in the garage, good as new. (well, they had 45k on them when I took them off, but they are not leaking and they look good as new) If your not...

    Brake Shudder

I actually heard, and I think it was on this forum, that rotors are very hard to warp. What happens is that the brake pads wear in a non-uniform fasion, and you get the same result as if the rotor was warped. Anyhow, in regard to the original question, might it have something to do with the...

Hurst Billet Shifter - Latest edition

I have the hurst Billet and I do really like it. You cant beat the look and feel of a hurst. That said. It does rattle. There is a rattle fix mentioned in the install directions for the MGW shifter, found on the MGW website. You may want to check that out. Whether you car installing the...

    The Dreaded Drone

drone is really a consequence of the cabin more than the muffler. Certain mufflers can enhance the problem more than others. A muffler like a corsa simply cancles out the resonant freq of the cabin, i.e., is completely quite at a certain rpm range. That is not a good solution in my book...

    FOG LIGHTS

hey, I know what your talking about, but I saw it on another forum. (cant remember the one) I did a similar thing and eventually scrapped it because I could not get close enough to a factory look for my taste. Its more tricky than it looks. You cant find fogs that fit well in the lower...

    Suspension work over

cool :nice: I was surprised too. Lowering springs on a Mustang seem to bring it down to a "normal" height, rather than drop it too low. I think the H&R springs are the only ones that really drop it down to what you might would call a lowered car.

    Suspension talk..Anyone??

Thanks man. Yup, these are the Steeda Sport Springs. I think the ride height reduction is 1.25" rear, and 1" front. I have had them on for about two months now, so I am guessing they have settled. I went with the Steeda's for performance reasons. Steeda, FRPP, and Roush are probably the top...

For all those with steeda sport or ultralites

the install is as difficult, or as easy, as installing any other spring. You can get spring compressors from autozone for free. That is the only special tool required. I think it took me about 4 hours for the front, and three hours for the rear. Then again, I was doing a bit more than...

MotorTrends 2010 GT500 test with Probst!

yeah, I've been loving those vids. It was great to see the GT500 do so well. I was especially surprised by how poorly the little beamer was rated. I think Ford may be gearing up for total domination. They are already doing very well, and with the addition of some new exciting engines, they...

    Suspension talk..Anyone??

Graypny! I recognize your car from other forums, and I think a youtube video. Nice ride, that color is very nice. +1 on the black bullitts. I am hoping to get those.. staggared with 18x10 Deep Dish rears. I had thought I would try and do something uncommon my aftermarket wheels, but you...

    Suspension talk..Anyone??

ahh, suspension talk. I am game. If only more people I know would talk suspension... Here is my stang, Steeda Dampers, Steeda Sport Springs, Steeda GT500 rear sway bar, and 1.25" wheel spacers in the back until I can get some 18x10 Deep Dish wheels. The Roush cars have Roush springs...

    New platform

totally. I am just glad the S197 was made, so at least I can fit in something that is performance oriented. :D You'd be surprised though, the actual size of the car does not often translate into interior room. I can fit pretty well in a VW golf, but wont fit in a many mid size sedans.
