    Don't sell your Fox

As said in the original post, it takes a couple of weeks of owning one before you realize you made a mistake. They can definitely be made fast, but there is no way to take away from the Minivan feel to the car. They are huge.

    Just bought an '05 GT

Have to say that, while they are very civil, after 2 weeks, they are not Mustangs. I consider it kind of a HUGE, fast, minivan. My wife likes it , because they don't squeak or rattle, but they have no road feel or personality. I will be selling it at a loss so I can keep my fox body...

    Don't sell your Fox

Hey all. I am the new owner of a 2005 mustang GT with a redfire exterior and black leather interior. I still own my 90 7up convertible. Let me say this, DON"T SELL YOUR FOX TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE! The 2005 Mustang is not a Mustang. The 2005 rides more plush, has decent get up...

    seat height

I was thinking of trying something like that. I grabbed some 3/16 angle steel from the salvage yard today (1" x 1 1/2") and I'm going to try to fab something up with those. something like an S bracket Cheers

    seat height

They have a quick release that works similar to the stock one. I think I am going to have to fabricate something, as the ride height is just too high for me. The stock seats sat at least an inch lower. How did you get the universal brackets to work? The ones from summit don't look like they...

    seat height

OK. So I installed my summit seats and i think they look OK. I installed them on the stock seat brackets and eveything went pretty easy. However, like everybody else says, they sit a little too high. Has anybody found a way to mount them so they sit stock height? Here are some pics

    heater core removal

You WILL have to pull your dash. My 90 vert is a non AC car and I still had to. Even the non AC fox bodies are a huge Pain in the *ss. On the bright side, it's nothing too technical, just unbolting a lot of parts. It's a pain, but you can save yourself 3-400 dollars by not paying somebody to do...

    Best head for bottom end

Update. Well I finished the head install and it actually went pretty well. The tops of my pistons were more badly carboned than I imagined and it took a lot to get them spotless, but other than that it was relatively easy. As far as performance goes, I'm VERY happy. The car pulls from...

Yes I bought the pedestal mount. Is the gasket you listed the Stock Ford head Gasket? I havn't opened up the Gasket set I bought to look at part numbers

    Best head for bottom end

Edelbrocks it is. I bought them last night, along with Push rods, head bolts, timing chain, Gasket kit, fuel pump,. Even with cheap heads, it's not a cheap project. Will the Ford performance Head Gasket work with the Edelbrock heads? I would think so, but you never know. BTW Kerpal, I let...

    Best head for bottom end

The cost is not as big a factor as making sure the car does what I want. If the Edelbrocks won't kill my bottom end, I would be a fool to pass them up. BUT, if the GT40Ys are a better velocity head (and I can find them) I'd be better off to spend a little more and get them

    Best head for bottom end

I thought the GT40Y heads had bigger valves than the Eddy performer 5.0 (194 intake 160 exhaust versus 190 intakes 160 exhaust for the edelbrock) That is why I am a little worried about going to any of the aftermarket aluminum heads, the loss of port velocity. The deal I'm getting on the...

    Best head for bottom end

They're pedestal mount, Do I still need hardened push rods? They're still new and not out of the Box so I'm not worried about the condition. (I wouldn't be getting as good of a deal if i hadn't done some free recording for him)

    Best head for bottom end

I agree, and your right, most of my driving will be in the 1500-5000 RPM range. The thing is, IF I get the Edelbrocks, do you think the power band will be that much higher than Ported GT40s or Thumpers. I know the port velocity will be great with the GT 40s, but if I can get a great deal on...

    Best head for bottom end

What gears are you running? what block?302 or Stoker? Any nitrous- S/C? The reason I ask is, most of the guys that I know that are running AFRs or Trick flows, are running 3:73s or 4:10 gears to make up for the lack of bottom end.
