seat height

OK. So I installed my summit seats and i think they look OK. I installed them on the stock seat brackets and eveything went pretty easy. However, like everybody else says, they sit a little too high. Has anybody found a way to mount them so they sit stock height?

Here are some pics

Hey 7-up, I think they look great. I installed a set similar in our '87 except they were APCs. I used the universal brackets from Summit and bought the aftermarket sliders. They sit about the same height as yours. Do those seats from Summit flip forward with a quick release? That's what I don't like about the APCs I got, you gotta crank the knob all the way forward to get access to the backseat. No button to push to just flip them forward.

They have a quick release that works similar to the stock one. I think I am going to have to fabricate something, as the ride height is just too high for me. The stock seats sat at least an inch lower.

How did you get the universal brackets to work? The ones from summit don't look like they would due to the uneven floor.

BTW. for any body that is trying to mount these or the Jegs seats using the Holcomb Motorsports brackets; they don't work. The Holcomb bracket is for seats with a much narrower mounting point.

I used them different than they tell you to. They show them running parallel to the door. I ran them the opposite. Parallel to the dash. That way you can adjust the height to make it more level.

I was thinking of trying something like that. I grabbed some 3/16 angle steel from the salvage yard today (1" x 1 1/2") and I'm going to try to fab something up with those. something like an S bracket

Cheers
