Did the mechanic screw me?Need my car help!

That doesn't look right. Try this: Facing the front of the motor and starting at the back coil pack it should look like this 2E | 1E -------- Rear coil pack top row is closest to firewall. 3E | 4E 4I | 3I ------- Front coil pack Top row is against rear coil pack. 1I | 2I I=intake side...

    Ranger Header?

You'll also need to pay attnetion to the O2 sensor location. Later model Rangers had the O2 sensor in the pipe rather than the manifold. If you get one without the O2 sensor bung on the header, you'll either have to pass on it or weld a bung on it. Mine came from a '96 or '97 and head the...

    computer numbers??

Check the coolant temp sensor. Sounds odd, but hear me out. We know that the ECU looks at coolant temp to determine if the engine is cold or up to operating temperature. When the CTS reports cold, the ECU increases the amount of fuel delivered much like a choke does on a carburetor. It does...

    computer numbers??

Young ladies should never be stranded. I'm with you all the way! Has the CEL come on since the 5spd swap or did it just start? Without being there to look at the car I'll be asking some pretty stupid questions. What I'm getting at is that the code behind the CEL could be the OD...

    computer numbers??

I agree with your philosophy to a great extent. However there are some things that the old EEC-IV ecu never sees that create driveability and operational issues. These problems never throw a code, but they'll certainly drive one to drink. If the only code you see during KOEO is the shift...

    computer numbers??

What is it you wish to do that the auto ECU won't do with in a 5spd environment?

    New Mustang Owner

Andy I think I'd leave the Comet alone, unless it's rust in the shape of a Comet. Even though it's the Maverick's ugly brother, it's still a cool car. That's just me and I'm kinda partial to Mavericks and Comets. That 80 Mustang should have the old Duraspark ignition. If the coil and...

    Check engine light help

With the changes you've made, it may take a bit for the ECU to adapt. It may not be a bad idea to reset the ECU and let it learn with a clean slate. You did mount the IAT sensor somewhere on the CAI plumbing upstream of the MAF right?

I got a pinto for christmas

I got Charlie Probst's EEC-IV book for Christmas. It ain't no Pinto, but it's still cool1 :D :D There's a joke in there somewhere when I guy posts he just got a Pinto and a firesuit. ;)

93 DIS to distributor ignition.. HELP!

I didn't think the TC ECMs liked the high impedence injectors the DP motors use. All it means is that you'd have to swap to your turbo motor's injectors for a little while. No big deal really, but you need to do it before you hurt your precious LA3. ;)

    help me please!!!

It's the same as a TFI on a 5.0 Phil. It's the grey module mounted beneath the head of the distributor. Did you get the gear timing right on the belt? The crank, cam, and the aux shaft need to be set right on those models.

How hard is the 2.3T swap?

If you don't get crazy with it and stay focused, the motor swap itself can be done in less than a day. The plumbing, wiring, debugging may take longer than a day based on the condition of the parts and your skill set. It's not a difficult job, there are just some tedious aspects that may run...

    Cheapest way for 5-lugs?

Yes it will. I'm using the same setup under my '91. What's been missed here is that you'll need the Ranger's wheel seals and dust cap for the rotors. You may need to clearance wither the calipers or the rotor as they can rub just a tiny bit. If you decide to clearance the caliper, don't...

    Unfortunately, need help again...

I ran into the same issue when I threw the T5 in my car. I got the clevis from Ford, but not the pin(you'd think they'd be a package deal). I took a 3/8" bolt that was 2" long and cut it down. The reason I used the long bolt was so that there was a shoulder that would stop the nut from...

    CAI fabbing idea

The air door for the stove pipe that runs from the manifold is in the stock airbox anyway so when you get rid of the box you get rid of the air door. I'm with Stinger on this one, remove the stove pipe and never worry about it again. For reference, mine runs just fine without it. :D

Are 1994 Mustang rear axles same length as Fox body axles?

SN95 axles are longer. If they were the same length, folks would be snagging them instead of grabbing driver's side axles out of Rangers for the 5 lug swap. It's the front spindles that changed in '96. They set the front wheels out 5/16" further than the 94-95 spindles.

    AOD internals, A4LD bell housing?

No, it doesn't work that way. The only things that AODs and A4LDs have in common is that they're both overdrive automatics and they're both from Ford. Nothing swaps, not even the mount. It wasn't so much the model year that determined whether or not a trans had a removable bellhousing as much...
