    RPM's Not Dropping very fast?

    i have a 98 cobra and i was wondering about my rpm's. they dont seem to drop fast enough between gears. is this normal? because of this i can't go into gear very fast or i feel the gears in the tranny. if i shift from 1st to 2nd around 4000 rpm then it goes in pretty smooth.

    Rear end gears?

    i bought a car and i know it has gears in it but i am not sure what ratio. i used a rear end gear ratio calculator that i found on the net and it said i have 4.30's. i dont think this is right. but then again i really dont know. what would a 98 cobra drive like with 4.30 gears.

    since my speedo is off this might not be acurate but we can give it a whirl. when my needle says 45mph in 4th gear the tach is at 2000rpm and when i am going what i think is actually 45mph the tach is at 2500rpm. i drove beside a buddy and i figured that my speedo is off about 12 or 13mph. so...

    when i bought my 98 cobra the speedo was off. i know it has 18in wheels and i am pretty sure it has 3:73 gears in it. anyway, i found this thing on the net for $90 that is supposed to calibrate any 5spd mustang's speedo. has anybody used one of these or do you have to get the correct speedo gears?

    Finally fixed my hesitation problem!

    after changing my spark plugs, fuel filter, pcv valve, cleaning my very dirty k&n, i figured out the problem. it was my spark plug wires. thanks to every one who helped me out. my 98 cobra now has a lot more power.
