    if it's low again then you definitly have a leak.freon just doesn't run out.have someone put dye in it and check the system.it's way more accurate than a sniffer.

    i measured mine from the bellhousing mounting flange to the end on both trannys and had the same measurements.no difference in lengths,just diameter.

    the guy that my brother bought his turbo coupe from had 3 of them.2 88s and an 87.my brother bought the 5spd 88.he took his friend up there and bought the 88 a/t for $800.he still has an 87 a/t that supposedly has an upgraded turbo on it.it needs work on the brake system,not sure what it is but...

    there is no length difference,just the input shaft diameter.if you don't change to the correct pilot bearing it can cause vibrations after you get past 40 or 50 mph.i ran my 4cyl t-5 for almost 2 years and never destroyed it.i even an it at the d/s a few times.i finally replaced it with a t-5z...

    Transmission woes

    check your pilot bearing and input shaft cover.i was having the same problem with a t-5 and replaced the galled up cover and put a new pilot bearing in and it shifted great after that.

    i ran a 4cyl t-5 for almost years and i didn't destroy it.i was hard on it and it seen a few d/s nights.i never tore it out,i just replaced it with a t-5z.

    broke water pump bolts

    i just had 5 bolts snap off in a customers 88 e-250 5.8 van.i went ahead and replaced the cover and timing chain set while i was at it.the funny thing was once the cover was removed the bolts came out very easily with a pair of pliers.the bolts corroded inside the cover and thats what causes...

    damn,i just tossed a good 4 cyl. t-5 last week.it needed an input shaft cover but it was quiet and didn't grind or pop out of gear.

    clutch fried at 700 miles

    also you should take it easy for a couple hundred miles to let the clutch break in.
