Need some engine help on my DD

Your buddy wouldn't happen to be Brett would it? Him and Rich Groh are building the motor for my stang right now. He's a good guy. car-part.com is where I've been looking, and the best I've found is a motor with 50k miles for $700 and a motor with 900 miles for $1000. I checked...

Need some engine help on my DD

Oh also, the cam has thick, black, "gunky" buildup on it, and I know that just shouldn't be...

Need some engine help on my DD

I can look down the oil fill tube and see the cam turning on the pass. side and I pulled a sensor on the drivers side valve cover and can see that the cam is turning on that side as well, so that rules out that.... I prolly would have heard if the crank snapped, but all I heard was the ticking...

Need some engine help on my DD

My dd is an 02 Explorer Sport trac 4.0 SOHC. So I was on the highway today and out of nowhere I start to hear this bad ticking sound. Immediatly I checked all the guauges and everything showed normal, so I right away pulled over to the shoulder and got ready to coast and motor started to lose...

is it easier to replace SN hubs with spindles on or off the car?

As long as there is not side to side play or anything I would leave them for now, cause it's not harder, or easier to change them when they are on the car. The one that moves more freely is actually probably the one that is older or has more where. When bearings are new they are tighter.

Yep, another Aluminum vs. Steel Flywheel question - different kind of ? though...

Yes, I know this has been beat to death and I have searched, but my question is a little different than the typical "aluminum or steel?" question. I want to know which one would help even out a crazy amount of low end with the top end... I am building a a 336 all forged stroker with crazy...

What 1971 351W heads will get ya...

That's flywheel though right? If so that actually sounds kinda low to me to, could be wrong though.

    IRONMAN

lol, that was actually one of the only decent roles he had - and no he was not his typical wannabe bad ass self.

    IRONMAN

Yeah, but SLJ is a sucky a$$ actor who is the the exact same actor in every movie - a wannabe bad a$$ who's better than everybody else. Give it a few years and he'll be the next "Steven Segal skit" on saturday night live. I can't understand why anyone likes him, he is such a sucky actor! Not...

    IRONMAN

Yeah, wasn't really an alternate ending. But he got home and f'n samuel l jackson was waiting for him in his house and told him he wanted to talk to him about the avengers project or something. I swear, if samuel l jackson is in the next one I'm gonna be pissed!

    IRONMAN

Anybody wait for the alternate ending thing after the credits?? I was pissed! Other than that, totally sick movie!

Any pics out there of an BLACK 87-93 with a Cobra R hood?

Cool, thanks for the pics guys! :nice: I'm still torn between the 2! I am leaning towards the heat extractor because my whole car build is geared towards doing things that not every other Fox owner and there brother has done! The heat extractor is still pretty rare, but actually may not be...

    Flywheel weights

I'm looking at buying an aluminum flywheel for my current buildup which is a 0 balance motor. The Fidanza's and Rams say they come with 28oz and 50oz weights - does that mean that without the weights the flywheel can be used with a 0 balance assembly?

Any pics out there of an BLACK 87-93 with a Cobra R hood?

Yeah, I'm picky - but choosing a hood is kicking my a$$!! I am totally torn between the heat extractor hood and the Cobra R hood for my black GT. So I'd like to see if anybody has pics of a Black Fox with the Cobra R hood. Thanks :nice:

Ever seen torque box reinforcements that look like this?

A distributor on Coral is selling these and he claims it is a superior design than the standard torque box reinforcements and since they were developed they've been selling the heck out of them.
