Flywheel weights

I'm looking at buying an aluminum flywheel for my current buildup which is a 0 balance motor. The Fidanza's and Rams say they come with 28oz and 50oz weights - does that mean that without the weights the flywheel can be used with a 0 balance assembly?

The only way/procedure I know to balance a rotating assembly is to have all the rotating parts balanced as a SET.
I assume you've already balanced your assembly with a steel flywheel?
My best suggestion in this case is to take the Fidanza or Ram flywheel back to the shop that balanced your assembly the first time and have them check out your new flywheel. You do not want to assume it's balanced out of the box.

As mentioned, balancing the assembly as a package is best.

I will say that I have not heard of any issues, from just bolting on the Fidanza weights.

In this case, he will be removing the weight and hopefully having it either static balanced or spin balanced.
As you stated 5speed... I've not heard any issues when just bolting one on. (that's not the way I would do things though).
