    Everyone with 275mm tires

I am getting ready to do a 5 lug conversion on my 91 Vert using 94-up Cobra parts. The wheels I will be using are 17" x 9" with a 6.12" back spacing and I would like to put 275-40 555Rs on the rear. Other than flipping the quad shocks what else needs to be done? What wheels are you running...

Luggage rack removal and re-install? 90conv

Yes the rest is riveted on, but have you ever considered just removing it permanently? I think they look great without it. It is cheaper to buy a good coupe lid then to pay a body man to fill the holes. I have not looked at my car lately but I think they are just black 1/4" rivets. -Brent

Question for Everyone with Smoke Headlights

I want to get a set of smoke lights for my car but a friend warned me that he has seen them turn purple over time. I know there has to be a brand out there that will stand the test of time. Has yours turned purple? How long have you had them and what brand? Thanks Brent

    Help! Ignition problems

About a month ago I was in heavy traffic and the car got pretty hot. Not hot enough to boil over but slightly above halfway on the gauge. After about 45mins the car just cut off. I thought TFI and switched it out but no good. Once the car cooled it started and ran fine. It happened again...

    AFR's and valve covers

On my 91 I have a Steeda #19 cam and 1.7 RRs with stock heads and the stock valve covers fit fine. I assumed I could do the same with AFR heads on the 89 I am building(same cam and rockers) but the stocks will not fit. What valve covers do you AFR guys run? -Brent

Never ending ? To use atf or gear oil?

That still says nothing about only running ATF. If you call redline and talk to them about what transmissions are not recommended for shockproof they will tell you it will work in transmissions with "yellow metal" syncros. I guess the bottom line is use lightweight oil, not heavy gear oil. I...

Never ending ? To use atf or gear oil?

Where did you see that? I could not find that, but I did find this: About MTL "Red Line Oil's MTL and MT-90 are designed to provide excellent protection and improved shiftability for manual transmissions and transaxles, having cured the problem of hard shifting in thousands of transmissions...

Never ending ? To use atf or gear oil?

Exactly, I'm glad someone said it. But even with that most mechanics will blindly say put in it what it came with. There is no doubt the trans was designed to use a lightweight fluid. Inherent in the design are tight tolerance sliding surfaces that need a low viscosity oil to penetrate and...

Never ending ? To use atf or gear oil?

Get a good lightweight gear oil in that trans and you will be a happier person. I know a lot of people are afraid to stray from what came in and people that don't know any better will make statements like those above. Get that ATF out of your trans and it will last longer and shift smoother...

The intake came yesterday and it looks pretty good out of the box. It looks to me like there was some cleaning done at the factory. I will have to check the gasket match. -Brent

What have you guys paid to have an engine rebuilt?

I pulled a 5.0 apart that had 108K on it and everything checked right on. Every surface was in tolerance and the cylinders still had crosshatching in then. It cost me $300 for new rings, bearings, seals, gaskets. I did all the labor and cleaning myself, so it only cost my $300 for the entire...
